The law didn't indicate didn't indicate an abundant supply of 60-year olds, it is an indication of the desperation of the ones who wrote the law.
Do you say the world is BETTER since 1914 or WORSE?

Better for some, worse for others.
Thus has it always been.
Good advice for us all:
Ecclesiastes 7:10 Do not say, "Why were the old days better than these?"
For it is not wise to ask such questions. NIVSylvia

The Berean
While available products and services are superior since 1914, people skills and relationships have noticeably deteriorated. I suppose that when life was tougher, we all worked together much better. When there was less electronic communication, we talked more directly to one another. When there were less travel options, we built a better homelife. I believe that there exists more loneliness as well as isolation in the world today than in 1914.

Snowbird,
Nice verse !
Its funny that the NWT translates that as ..."It is not due to wisdom that you have asked about this", LOL !

From The Message Bible:
Ecclesiastes 7:10 Don't always be asking, "Where are the good old days?"
Wise folks don't ask questions like that.Fred Franz should have taken the K.I.S.S. approach!
LOL.

It's had it's ups and downs: 2 world wars, the Great Depression, dying young, Jim Crow.
Since then, all of that is no more. Life is much better since then.

Wise people don't ask that kind of question because they know that it's been up and down all through history and to make the best of their lives now. I love this thread!
