Yes, my mother and most of her family are in, however, they were never friendly to me when I was an "elder's wife". I think there was a lot of jealousy going on. You know how the dubs are so judgmental. My mother said she would NEVER stop talking to me, but we shall see if the org decides to DF me. It really won't hurt me at this point in my life because I have not been in contact with hardly anyone from WT. In fact, my father is no longer a JW, and I live around a lot of his family and they are Catholics. We even went to their home for Christmas dinner. My husband has a lot of non-JW family in the area too, and we have been hanging out with them. So we are making the transition rather smoothly.

Here is an alternative thought:
She is aware that you have been inactive and she is also on the brink of being dfd herself you say. Maybe she needs a way out herself?
Other than that, "Dont believe everything you hear" is probably the best response you can give.
