A good friend and long-time elder just back from Patterson, asked me what I thought is he most prevalent problem elders are facing today....told him I had no idea.... he said "pornography" by far the most vexing problem for them... hard to believe, no?

Now you know why they ask Sisters so many unnecesary personal questions during JC's dealing with immorality Perverts

Not surprising at all.
Back in the 1980s, I recall an elder telling me that I would be shocked at the number of brothers who had issues with pornography. And this was before the Internet!

So they got the guys up there for school, made them feel all special for attending the school, humbled them for being at Patterson, and then focused on PORN...which always leads to a discussion of masturbation?
I am sorry but if I was a nasty cynic I would swear there was webcams in the Elders rooms to catch them wacking-off as part of a some sick voyeurism pornography ring.
....LOL... Pornography is mostly associated with males so I suppose this could be the reason given for the decline in males reaching-out and younger men fading.
That said I wonder how this viewpoint will change as younger GB begin to filter in......
Good Gravvy, when things are bad blame it all on immorality of some kind.

Right...just goes to show how out of touch these guys are.
Congregation publishers are popping antidepressants like they were M&Ms...pedophiles continue to infiltrate congregations....morale is sinking as the end appears to farther off than ever...contributions are drying up, necessitating the sale of real estate in Brooklyn and the (further) cutting back on quality and quantity...kids/young adults continue to leave the organization at about an 80-90% clip....brothers are not "reaching out" for positions of resposibility...
...and the "most vexing problem" is porn?!?
GROSS!!!!!!!!!!!! yuk...... wont ever look at my elders in the same way again....
I'd think twice before shaking hands as well....
