Not sure whether banning would be in order. People have the right to eat what they like but they also need to be aware of the consequences. Diseases such as cancer, diabetese and cancer continue to be the scurge of the wealthy developed nations.

I have just finished reading a book called 'The China Study'. It might seem to be a little extreme to many but there seems little doubt that a vegetarian, almost vegan, diet is the best for all round health and avoiding cancer. Personally, I am vegetarian for a number of reasons and try to eat as little processed foods as possible.

Very well Sylvia. Now, lets cook everybody some good old hominy grits with lots of butter and cream.

Yellow grits, salmon sauteed in olive oil with a little spinach will do a body good!

BTW, what's the matter with everybody here? Aren't you thinking like good little dubbies?

For example - will DONUTS be banned? This is their greatest fear.

Oh well - we already know that anything good or fun will soon be banned in the new system.

I always wondered why there were donuts at all the ciruit assemblies.

That seemed so detrimental to the teachings of the JW's.

But not any more, right Sylvia?

Actually, back when I was doing the assembly accounts in the 1970s, the donuts were probably the highest profit margin of anything in food service - and also the highest sales other than soft drinks. We did not do so well on the soft drinks because the distributors charged so much for the ingredients and the setups.

The cafeteria was always considered a break-even or even a loss leader - but necessary so that poorer families could still eat.

My word - how things have changed...
