The article focused on a belief that most of us now believe to be a false hope, ie that we will live forever on Earth...They fudged over their own past to give an impression that they have consistently taught the same message, when they have not done so..

Not necessarily. According to Aubrey de Grey the first thousand year old human has probably already been born. And if scientists and doctors can keep people alive for 1000 years, then who knows after that, maybe thousands more. So something approaching everlasting life may be within the grasp of this generation after all. What we do with that time and how we treat each other - and the earth - if we accomplish that feat is another matter of course. But maybe this is "Jehovah" telling us something: that we humans can manage to reach our goal of living forever on paradise earth if only we apply ourselves.

Probably premature--it's debated: "...a review of SENS by 28 scientists concluded that none of de Grey's therapies "has ever been shown to extend the lifespan of any organism, let alone humans".

of course Ray Kurzweil has plenty to say about machine-humans living forever - currently aged 61 he hopes to be among them

my bet - stay alive to '45 (2045) and you will have a good chance of vastly extended lifespan

note to JWoods - the known Universe has plenty room for us to transfer our intelligence to

Well I thought it was interesting that the cheif executive of the Methuselah Foundation is a Jehovah's Witnesses anyway. I wonder how that goes down in his congregation, or how he does not see it as lacking faith in Jehovah to provide salvation.
