BTW, ladies - according to Wiki, Ralph Nader is still available - he has never been married.
Oh yeah, give me some of that--not.
I think Nader has tried to do some good things, but in the end, he's probably just paving the highway to hell.

Piece of cake? I made it myself. I am trying to fatten us all up for winter.

Bullshit! Even when we need a lawyer we do not like lawyers. We just tolerate them because we need them at the time.
Next time you have to shell out $640 greenbacks an hour for your attorney's time tell me how much you like him or her.

Marvin no one forces you to pay for a lawyer, so stop whinging about much they cost an hour, if you use their services you have to pay, the same as when you buy goods at a grocery store.

nd yet, for some strange reason, the liberals deny that resistance to tort reform is part of their agenda. This I cannot understand, unless, of course, they wish to hide it for some strange reason.

Wow....assumptive.
I believe I said that tort reform is needed but without (in the case of healthcare) health care reform, it cannot be acheived.
.My father worked at GM when the Corvair was being built in the early years and that's why I asked him about it...I respect his knowledge about the subject. ...and yes, no apologies here...I do have a lot of respect for those who fight for consumer awareness and corporate transparency. If Nader fits that bill then so be it...................sammieswife.

And where did I said otherwise?
The point is that hiring an attorney because we need an attorney does not mean we like the attorney. In other words (for teeny-weeny brains), needing a lawyer has nothing whatsoever to do with liking or not liking a lawyer.
If you want to respond to something I say please have the intellectual decency to respond to the point rather than blather on about something I have not said.

Hi Marvin,
I am struggling to know how to respond to such an intellectual as yourself, however would you please indulge me, i generally find that getting along with people ( especially those to whom i pay my hard earned cash) helps. I know you do not have to like them, that i never questioned. nothing whatsoever to do with liking them, did i say that it did?.

I wish that were true. But it seems that there are some occasions (car accident representation, etc.) that we have no choice but to find a lawyer to help us.

Ditto plumbers, dentists, mechanics.......etc.
Lawyering is a noble and important occupation. It can be used as a force for good. The problem that we have in this country is not that we have too many lawyers. If that was the case legal fees would be much lower just because of all the competition. The real problem we have is too many laws. Far too much complicated law. We are all probably in violation of the law in any of a dozen different ways and we don't even realize it.
There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws.

If you ever have to shell out $640 an hour for your attorney to keep the Federal Government off your ass, that weakness in your knees just might be mistaken for love.
And FYI, I've hired an attorney before--twice. I've never done anything so drastic that I had to pay him/her $640.00 an hour to save my rear end. However, both attorneys were worth the money I paid them and it even got me started in a new career. My first attorney wound up hiring me and training me to be her PARALEGAL. However, there does seem to be a disturbing trend in this country that you get the justice you can afford. I don't like it and understand your resentment.
