Tired would be a more accurate description for me. Tired of hiding one life from my mother and hiding another from my friends!

Absolutely not. I was scared to death, as a child, to tell anybody at school that I was one of "them".

NO, I never told anyone where I worked I was a Witness. Skirted around the issue at holiday times. It was totally embarrassing.

going by my name, no I didn't have any pride in being a JW, I was born into it and I didn't have a choice or I would die.

Only during the first few months. Once I realized that Jehovah was not going to accept me no matter what (and I define "accepting me" as giving me all my needs, including sexual ones without demanding ever more out of me), I was in it only to see a few that I cared about. And, once they took that away, I had no reason to not start blowing off the whole religion.

Not really. Truth be told I very rarely told anyone I was a JW. I never mentioned it at work and rarely during my school years, where as some folks wore it like a badge of honor. However, when folks did find out they were surprised and its not like I lived a double-life, I just wasn't preachy or inviting people to the memorial or leaving tracts with them or placing YPA books with folks. I was very active in social activities during my school years (with encouragement from my JW mom). I've always gone to happy hours and dinners...just a good career and social move. Glad I did, made it easier to reconnect with folks when I decided to fade.
