So I'm having the basic Thanksgiving dinner, Turkey etc. Of course mine will be exquisite, not basic. But I am debating the wine. Anyone have any ideas? Not brand, variety.

We are hosting Thanksgiving for the first time ever, so we want it to be special as well.

After consulting with the wine steward at out Total Wine store we agreed to pair Champagne instead of wine - 5 different types, from pre-dinner, with appetizers, during - two types, and after dinner.

We are still having a Chard for the traditional people, but wanted to try something unique and have some fun.

So dissed, I was thinking that with all the heavy foods, some kind of red just might work. I'm looking for a consensus.

    Heavy and turkey?

I'm thinking light white. How about a riesling?

With Turkey and stuffing, vegetables, a light white sounds good. We love a really good, smooth, vanila like Chardoney.

La Crema, Rombauer, also almost anything from Caneros is nice.
