If You Could Shoot Hitler......

It's a classic sci-fi plot: You have a Time machine and a snipers rifle. Do you go back in time and kill Hitler?

I can justify Hitler but only because we now can see how central he was to events in Europe. How about Stalin? Well, maybe since you might thereby elevate a different murderous thug who was incompetent or too extreme to continue Communism. Maybe some lives get saved.

Let's consider some others: if you disagree with Obama and company, I say you're wasting your time and creating a martyr. JFK was a reckless failure as President and getting killed got him a sort of sainthood he never deserved.

How about the Governing Body? Nope, what difference would it make? There is no strongly moral group of men waiting in the wings - they're all part of a fraud and eagerly support it. You could nuke Wallkill and I can guarantee that in six months there would be a Watchtower "explaining " the whole thing and gathering sympathy from zombie Witlesses who then "know" the End is Now "really" soon.

I don't agree with anti-abortion types but I can see that a potential strategy of murdering MD providers can work for them. They don't need a Supreme Court ruling to win, just terrorism at the effective level, sad to say.

Moral: Changing the World is harder than you think. I gotta read Asimov's Foundation someday and think about "psychohistory".

You shoot one evil man from history and another pops up.

I don't know how many bullets there are or the amount of fuel in the time machine but you would end up having to shoot the whole human race eventually.

Personally, as a Christian, I like this vibe :)

    Romans 12:9-21 (New International Version)

14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. 16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.

17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. 19 Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay,"says the Lord. 20 On the contrary:
    "If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head." 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

    Blessings, Stephen

It's like when Doctor Who could have destroyed the Daleks but didn't ... because as bad as they were, history could have been worse.

Can you imagine trying to explain it?

    "I did it, I killed Hitler !!"

    "what? Who's Hitler?"

"That baby, he was going to be a monster"

"You killed a baby? You're a monster ... get him"

    "No, I'm a hero ... urgh"

I would take out Widrow Wilson. Then no Versailles Treaty, no League Of Nations, then no Hitler.

Or, I would take out Lenin, then the communist counter revolution fails and the White Russian government succeeds. Again, no Hitler.

Or, I would take out the Confederate picket who shot General Stonewall Jackson. Then the Confederate night attack is successfull and the entire Union army is bagged and Washington DC falls and the South wins the war. Now you have no Obama.

British Foreign Secretary Lord Lansdown. Now there is no Anglo Japanese alliance. Japan does not invade Chin, Japan does not go to war with the United States in 1941. The United States sits out WWII and watches the Nazis and Communists exhaust each other and then waltzes in to pick up the broken pieces. The communists don't take over China, and the Nazis and the Russian communists are ousted by Allied forces.

Changing the world is easy, you just have to pick your targets carefully.

No, I wouldn't want to go back in time and kill Hitler, I much rather prefer to just let a sleeping dog lie, as already stated there are no guarantees that this would solve any problems or would make life better for the present and I feel what's done is done, learn from it and move on.

When I first found out about the lies the the WT passed on as truth I was about as mad as can be, and still under the jealous vengeful god imitation indoctrination and so I possibly could have felt mad enough to kill a couple of GBs at that time and felt justified with a so called righteous indignation, but that soon passed as I came out more and more of the indoctrinated belief in this monster god Jehovah.

Now I feel no need of getting even or such nonsense, I'm not even interested in exposing them that much,,I still will when and if I get a chance but not that interested to spend much energy time or resources in doing so.

I rememeber an old German JW brother relating a story how his father had the opportunity to kill Hitler while driving his car. Seeing hitler by chance, buying an ice cream from a street vendor. He easily could have swerved his car and killed the despot but thought to himself, Judge Rutherford was a friend of Hitler's, and any friend of the Judge, was a friend of his.

I posed the same question a couple of times here. The votes seem quite divided. Interesting that you brought this up - I have just begun reading "I will Bear Witness" by Victor Klemperer. His diary that commenced with Hitler's appointment in Germany in 1933 until 1941.

I do believe that Victor would have taken that challenge and saved 6 million of his brethren. So would I.
