If that were the case, then the Bible wouldn't be comprehensible or properly understood except for "those" people at "that" time. That would mean that God didn't have any foresight to properly enlighten people of the future, or to put it another way, sacrificed the edification and enlightenment of future peoples for the benefit of people at "that" time. Any God that can't write words that could be universally understood by people of all ages and cultures should look for another job, preferably in the housekeeping or food-service industry.
:They were used to cold, unbending "commands" and "rules" so taking the whole previous history of these stubborn people, maybe he was speaking words they would know and that they would 'hear'. Then as that sank in, along with the example Jesus set on how to be, then one day they would 'get it'.
You should always be wary of Gods for whom you are always busy making up excuses.
