Ol' lady is a term of endearment in the outlaw biker gang world that my wife came from so she says that would be just fine.

I don't like it. I prefer babe or hot momma

purple,
She complains "I am NOT a crack ho ... anymore, I stopped using crack....Now I am just a ho" LOL My wife is SOOOO cool. Ex outlaw bikers are pretty open minded.

No I don't see it as disrespectful. And really if my wife did get upset with me calling her my "Ol' lady" in a playful way, then she would simply be overly sensitive in my view. If she got upset and withheld affections then yes it would teach me a lesson, that my wife is not playful or fun enough to take a little good natured teasing and therefore not really be myself around. My wife or shall I say "Ol' lady" is not old in reality the old one, I am actually 4 years older than she is. The other name I call her is "Little Badness" of which in reality is slightly more close to reality in that she is little in comparison to me in so much as she is 5'4" and 140 while I am 6'2" and 250, but she is not by most measurements a bad person. And she handles them well, either blowing it off, or smiling with a bit of annoyance and she even has some names for me that I don't mind either and therefore we get along with some playful teasing of each other at least in that regard.
It brings to mind the famous Stripes line "Lighten up Francis", if you feel it disrespectful. Though I do grant that in my line of work you get used to being called the most vile names possible on a regular basis therefore you grow a very thick skin. But to each his own. For you that might just be the way you are which is fine you just need to make sure you communicate that and see if that alters the situation more to your liking.
