This place has helped sooo many. Between JWN and Randy's site, it's unbelievable!

I spoke with Randy on the telephone about Freeminds and had a subscription to his letters.

I was Googling a subject completely and UTTERLY unrelated to ANYTHING JW related (the history of the Gnostics, in fact) and one of the hits was a thread on this site. My heart skipped a beat (and not in a good way) when I saw the URL "jehovahs-witness". I almost didn't click, but I thought, "oh what the heck, let's see what horrible things the JW's say about Gnostics" and that's when I realized I was on a *gasp!* APOSTATE site!

From there, I saw a thread on the UN EXPOSE'. I literally did not believe it. I thought, "There is enough bad about the Witnesses, the apostates don't have to MAKE STUFF UP!!!" I had been out for two decades and I was still that much of an apologist. I stayed up all night, Googling and trying to prove that ugly rumor wrong. I could not. I finally ended up on the official United Nations Website, confirming the Watchtower's involvement.

I just want to thank you Simon, thank you researchers, thank you letter-writers, and really, thanks go to everyone here. It took me a really long time to get to my angry stage (and hopefully I am through that stage, now!) Twenty years is a horribly long time to be in denial.

Yknot, you wouldn't happen to remember the exact comment by Terry that made such an impression on you, would you? Just out of curiosity. You already mentioned this a couple of months ago and I've been curious about it ever since...

I was inactive in FS for several months, because I had decided the 1914 thing was crap years ago, but the WT was still teaching it in its current BS (Bull***t or Bible Study ,whichever you prefer ) book. The one laughably entitled "What does the Bible really teach ?"

So how could I go from door to door. ?

I stumbled upon Greg Stafford's site Elihu Books, and although it struck me that he was intending to build his own breakaway religion, I was SO pleased to find someone who agreed with me about 1914. Then I googled to find more such sites, I found some crap first, then struck gold and found JWD. (Now JWN)

I went through the usual anger and trying to get family and friends to see etc, but then I went through a bad depression, and even came close to suicide, I could see no reason to live, and felt I was worth nothing, I could not give anything of value in this universe.

The love and support, and companionship, true non-judgemental and unconditional friendship I found on here from all you lovely people, and some who no longer post here, helped me through.

Life itself is not easy at present, but I am happy to be free and I am happy to be alive.

I am so glad I found this site, long may it reign as King of the 'Poztates !

    Love

I followed a link to Freeminds from the Wikipedia article Criticism of Jehovah's Witnesses and then eventually to this site.

By mistake! I was surfing for the JW site and got this instead. What an eyeopener.
