I found it to be very amusing when he talks about the "elders educating doctors".

Yup , The Governing Body speak where obviously Jehovah is incapable of speaking, if he cannot speak on this life and death issue, how can the Governing Body ? How can they know what He thinks about this ?

JEHOVAH PLEASE SPEAK NOW IF YOU EXIST. JWN is very easy to sign up to, and use.

Watchtower says Witnesses abstain from plasma.

Under Watchtower's doctrine Witnesses can and do accept cryoprecipitate. Hence Witnesses do not abstain from cryoprecipitate.

Under Watchtower's doctrine Witnesses can and do accept cryosupernatant. Hence Witnesses do not abstain from cryosupernatant.

What is cryoprecipitate, and what is cryosupernatant?

These two blood products come from donated plasma. Cryoprecipitate is seperated by a thermo process. Frozen plasma is carefully thawed. At a certain temperature precipitate occurs inside the plasma bag. This is cryoprecipitate. The hemotologist places this bag of plasma into a device that squeezes the non-precipitate out of the bag. The part left over in the bag is the cryoprecipitate. The part that is squeezed out into another bag is cryosupernatant.

Together, cryoprecipitate and cryosupernatant are the sum total of plasma. Hence it is a lie to say Witnesses abstain from plasma. Witnesses can and do accept every bit of plasma in the form of croprecipitate and cryosupernatant.

By the way, cryoprecipitate is roughly 1 percent of plasma, and cryosupernatant is roughly 99 percent of plasma. These two substances contain the same material. Cryoprecipirate is globulin rich and cryosupernatant is globulin poor, but both contain globulins.

I took the "Elders educating doctors" more so on what JWs can and can't accept or telling older doctors some blood alternatives they may not have been aware of. I don't think they would be educating any doctor on anything in life in general.

Thanks Marvin, that example is so simple even a child can understand it! here are a couple of links to back up what Marvin said to the lurkers: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cryosupernatant and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cryoprecipitate.

WT next month: "Imagine your doctor tells you to abstain from alcohol. Is it then okay to take a bottle of whiskey and freeze it, then you slowly thaw it so the alcohol can drain out, and finally gurgle down the freeze-destilled alcohol and then whatever was left in the container?"

    Thanks for that Marvin.

That's a mighty poweful example of the stupidity of their blood doctrine.

Leave this to Jehovah, huh? What a cop out. The e-watchman certainly could've done better than that. He's already an 'apostate opposer of the truth' why not tell the truth about the ridiculousness of this doctrine?

Whenever the questions become based on Medical Science rather than Scripture, it is always going to be the way that science may be disputed or updated. So the WT should be vulnerable.

I respect the answers from T D and Marvin Shilmer. I have found though that when using this kind of argument with a dub , that they just glaze over and revert to the party line. (or in the case of family, get abusive and call me a coward who is scared of dying !, but no matter)

The WT seems to have taken a basic handbook that says there are 4 main components of blood , and that is that. No matter what other argument is put up.

I attended a cong meeting a year or two back, it followed a seminar for the U K HLC members. The main speaker had the WT chart up behind him, with a line drawn as to what was and was not acceptable. He said with due gravity that the Governing Body had decided that this is the dividing line ..........

Yes, the G B...not the Bible..They are told to base their faith and their lives on the teachings of MEN...Does not that tell us something//

I completely agree. With a reasonable person, the simpler the argument the better.
