Perry. Respectfully, you base all of your discussions on your belief that the Bible is the inspired word of God. That has already been shown that the Bible is not the inspired word of God.

That is not the issue here Blueblades. Although, I cant imagine where you'd get proof for such an idea. If you start a thread on that , I'd like to hear your ideas.

The CENTRAL issue with Terry has BEEN FOR YEARS, and will continue to be the logicalness of God's mercy in light of Justice. This is what underpins all of his arguments.

I have adressed that....for years. Everyone is of course welcome to their own opinion....but if anyone can point out a problem with my logic above, let me know.

Its not Christians per se Perry, its Fundamentalists/Literalists, who have such a skewed view of reality and history and even the Bible they quote from that they define God as a monster ready capable and willing to commit the unthinkable.

The Age of Ooogaaboogaa is passing.

    Designs,

What on earth are you talking about? The description and logic of God's mercy that I described above is held by HUNDREDS of millions of Christians. Fundamental, Evangelical, Old Mainline Protestants, Charismatic etc, etc, etc.

Now go pick up the pieces of your Jihad against Christians and play outside.

With other Christians like you? What if they are going to go on a Crusade of mercy against me? What if I ask them a question about evil and they start talking about Gods mercy?

Terry is more then able to speak to this if he wants. I will just observe that he asked a question, and here you are making something else the central issue. No, that wasn't the issue or the question Terry asked, and your reponse to it was to talk about something else. That is called a DODGE. Lets face it Perry, you only want to talk about what you want to talk about. And you can't answer Terry's question. Thats fine.

Besides, if this has been going on for years, why even bother to interject yourself? You came in, debated, didn't answer the question, then claim that some here 'just don't get it.'

Well, speaking for myself, I don't get you.

Religion is religion. Worship is worship. It is what it is.
Saying "false religion" is as insane as saying "He's wearing false clothes", "She's eating false food", "That big city banker is practising a false profession", "A Tibetan shepherd is living a false lifestyle".

Interesting statement Quillsky, and that would be all it was if other religions weren't using these labels. For the sake of argument, I would think the point must be conceded that it is religions themselves that claim to be true and others false. Non theists merely pick up on this and point it out. If all religions abandoned that claim, then I doubt threads like this would exist.

And the life lessons and festivals of Krishna, Ganesh, Lakshmi, Shiva and Vishnu are believed in by HUNDREDS of millions of people too. Your point therefore.....?

Now there's a religious principle I believe in, Designs. Add to that "Do as little harm as possible, to yourself, others and your environment" and we're approaching the religion I now believe in. It doesn't require evangelism (or argument), merely personal responsibility.

Isn't anyone going to address my response to Terry's question?

No, that wasn't the issue or the question Terry asked, and your reponse to it was to talk about something else.

Simply claiming this without showing evidence is just plain silly. Is that what you are reduced to in the face of logic Jeff? You should be ashamed of yourself.

Your claim is PROVED false by just reading my post.

You didn't respond to his question, you raised a different one Perry.

The only truism I see in this argument is that Perry has bought into what his particular religion is selling.

You can logically state that he's been sucked into the falsehood of religion.

Is it the mercy of God to let all of mankind dissolve into a slow but certain death in the Christian sense

for thousands of years for a billion or more people ? Based of course on the premise on one single woman

and man disobedience regarding the eating of an apple ? This is the mercy of God ?

Perhaps Perry can explain this philosophical logic to us all.
