JWF--thanks for posting this article. It appears to be a KM from Great Britain (note the British spelling of "honour" at the end of paragraph 1). Are all KMs the same, or are they different in different branches? Of course the statistical information has to be customized for each branch, but I'm not sure about the articles themselves.

The Governing Body are a bunch of micro managers. To use a favorite of their terminology: "Apparently" the main objection is making these recordings available on the Internet for down loading.
The Governing Body hates the Internet because it serves to take away some of their power and level the playing field some what. They are all about control, and they are trying their darnedest to keep it, they are worried that a certain brother by means of the Internet might gain popularity and steal some of their thunder.

One thing that probably really rankles the nerves of the GB is the fact that certain movements inside the organization can be given a wide publicity by means of the Internet, they want to squash them anyway they can before they get too popular.
Expect much more demonizing of the Internet in the future because it is a real threat to information control imposed by the Governing Body, and it ain't going away.

Very sad how the GB is giving rules on recording talks. Now the brothers and sisters who may have missed a talk will permanently miss that talk, unless they convince the elders of a need. But this now gives another reason for why brothers and sisters cannot help fellow jws.

Canadians spell "honor" "honoUr" too.

They just don't want people posting them online so worldly people can see how stupid the witlesses really are.
Too funny and very accurate.

Hi Just to confirm that it is a UK KM. I usually get a very early copy.
Although the question box however is Global policy and will be in the international versions as well.
I can't scan the article as I have a pre production copy, but you will see the printed versions within the next 3 weeks or so.

"would you care to explain "hawaii zone" to me VM44? im not familiar with this term."
The Watchtower divides areas of the world into "zones".
The talk I mentioned may be downloaded from this website:

Oh damn I've had the recording of my wedding talk for 22 years I suppose I ought to destroy it as it is now out of date.
It is sad to think of the level of control here and cover up.
Don't give undue honour to good speakers because all honour should go to the GB.
Information might be out of date. As has been pointed out the Bible is the Bible the message should be the same, god doesn't reissue scripture every 10 years as he changes his mind.
Talks are site specific. So does this mean that the society does not have a consistent approach to the worldwide organisation? Again the Bible only comes as one message, there isn't one specific to each region.
Petty and silly as usual soon we'll be told to bin bound volumes. Whoops done that already.
