An illustration ... and what follows is, like statistics, something that can be bent into any shape to support any idea you wish and to do so convincingly - convincingly to the rank and file because - because jesus used illustrations ...

A very high proportion of articles in the magazines - and there are ... hmmm thousands (refer to Dr Evil's $1million heh-heh) ... start off with illustrations - more twisting of easily manipulated minds ...

On the subject of the 'spokesperson' - oops no! thats always gonna be the 'spokesman' - and the indignant retorts to the fact that the borganisation NEVER apologise or admit error - the funniest ones to me are always where they print a letter in the awake! correcting them and they always - ALWAYS - have a smart answer to show that 'ok maybe you are right - but SO ARE WE' ...

Can you imagine a spokesman for the President repeating the same misinformaton over and over again? Sheesh! I can't!
Why would Jehovah have the FDS preach for some seventy odd years that those living and witnessing the events of 1914 would live to see the end of this system of things?
C'mon, let's be honest here. I believe that deep down in their hearts, most JWs do NOT believe that Jehovah directs the FDS.

    Yo Yo,

``Can that slave class make mistakes? Yes'' That's your question to us.

My question to you is: When have they ever admitted as much? Or apologized for any of the consequences such errors may have caused?

They admit such mistakes in the Proclaimers book.

    YoYoMama,

When you claim to speak in God's name, as his sole channel of communication, then you do not make mistakes. You do what got people in Israel stoned to death - you make false prophecies. There is a tremendous difference.

How come the WTS hasn't admitted that it made a mistake with the length of a CD, which it used to bolster its end times chronology? Is that honest? But then again, when have those in "the Truth" given a damn about truth?

How you doing on the doors YoYo - are your arguments so compelling that people are falling over themselves to become dubs? Or are they looking at forums such as this one and seeing for themselves what a joke this religion is - largely through the feeble efforts of those who, in trying to defend it, demonstrate just how ridiculous the whole thing is.

You can't even tell me if the WTS still believe that a CD is 7000 years long or not. But that's not surprising. I persuaded a loyal JW to write to Patterson and ask and you know what, they wouldn't/couldn't say either. That's God Channel we talking about!

Why do you think that is the case, YoYoMama?

The Proclaimers book is to the truth like a vaccine containing nearly-dead viruses is to the Real McCoy.

Various researchers for the book found out a lot about the history of the Society, from their own records, that the Governing Body and other officials decided was too hot for the JW community to handle, so they left it out. A great deal of the information in the book is so watered down that someone who doesn't already know the real story is totally misled. Whoever put the book into final form was thoroughly dishonest.

And I'm supposed to believe what you say because you are the great AlanF?

    Various researchers
What researcher? Who gave you this inside information?

    YoYoMama,

    : What researcher

I understand your surprise that the WTS actually has researchers. Like you I'd assumed that they just "employed"* plagiarizers, story tellers and liars. But, apparently they do. My shock was alleviated somewhat when I discovered that they aren't allowed to publish what they find - that is not in WTS literature.

    * I use the word "employed" guardedly since working at Bethel hardly qualifies as employment.

Lionel: I was not surprised that the there are researcher. Of course there are. In fact all articles are researched, then put together by a member of the Writing Dept., then proofread by about 40 different brothers.

AlanF claims to have some sort of inside information that I am challenging.
