Hell, they even put rules on the fabric of said skirts - denim is not allowed for bethel visits; even if it's modest and looks neat and clean, unlike some of the fashion travesties I've observed over the years.
Sisters told they strictly can't wear slacks to Meetings to keep them submissive! Why?

Denim skirts are discouraged (no longer allowed) for meetings and service either.

Yea they have been harping on Denim for awhile.........and not just Bethel visits but for FS and meetings!
So far the Sisters are NOT heeding the call and all have a 'Come and Take It' attitude

I'm not sure if I posted this video correctly but this is the united church of god members. I saw this a few weeks ago and it pissed me off when I saw that their women can wear pants and we couldn't. You'll see her in pants as she's walking away.

During cold weather she likely could arrange to be exposed to the weather for shorter periods of time, or pause more frequently to warm herself. But in frigid climates, where everyone in the community wears clothing appropriate to the weather, such as slacks, surely it is proper for Christian women to do the same.
Oh sure, she can arrange to be exposed to the weather for shorter periods of time, or pause more frequently to warm herself... if she wants to be gossiped about as a whiner or complainer. I wasn't allowed to wear more than heavy leggings under my skirt and coat, and of course my winter boots weren't the warmest things to wear in Quebec in the winter, because the heavy leggings made them too tight and virtually cut off the circulation in my feet. I was always, always freezing. But it was more important to trudge on than to spend a few minutes in the car with the heater on to try and warm up a bit. Especially that time we had the Circuit Overseerā¢ and his wife in our car group. There was no way my dad was going to allow anything that might raise the eyebrows of these holy representatives of the WTS. That is until I got so cold that I started to black out at the door of some big rich-looking home we were calling on. Then they had no choice but to put me in the car to warm up, and when I started coming round, I got scolded for making us look bad to Worldly Peopleā¢. The real punishment happened when I got home though, for "embarrassing" my dad in front of the CO and his wife.
Whenever I think about these ridiculous incidents from my childhood and young adulthood, I have to wonder what the frack was wrong with my parents... and where the hell was Child Protective Services then??

.....on another note.....
Perhaps the real reason is so that a hubby can get a quicker poke in the backseat between driving from on part of a territory to the next....
.....just saying....
Yknot, just when I decide (again) that I don't much care for you, you throw out something like the above, and I fall back in love with you all over again.

Wow...the longer I am away ....the more clearly I can see how crazy the WT policies are. When you are in it....it seems impossible to realize how insane it really is.
Freedom is a beautiful thing.

My Mom and I were rebels in the 1970's in the cold winter months we decided to go out in pants suit. We worked a whole street in the rural area and had a good day by JW's standards. After the other JW's heard about it though the Elders said no more. I said fine we will just stay home on really cold days and you Elders can go out. My Mom and I both came into the witnesses as adults.

If a Christian sister is unsure about a particular style, she can discuss the situation with her husband or an elder in the Christian congregation.
Jesus H Christ, there really is no decision making for a jw woman, is there?
