  I have no relationship at all with my parents right now, and in fact I told them that I would rather not talk to them at all if they don't treat me like a son. But my brother was able to break free from that mind control, and just two weeks ago, he gave them a call and told them what he really thinks about their insolent treatment of their children. In fact, several people have stood up to the WT authority structure in my area after I became very vocal and active. Once you make a stand, you will feel better,

  Thank you for sharing that with us. Ex-JWs/faders will only get the respect they demand for themselves. Being a doormat for JW's is no way to live.

  Yes, my post was in regards to the comment Moshe made about “mommy and daddy stop talking to them”, anyone who stands up about the Borg.

  I think it’s a very rude way to speak about people whom he doesn’t know - he doesn’t know their circumstances nor understand the emotional ties that people have with each other.

  I did make a stand, and I am certainly no doormat, but at the same time it is wrong to make fun of people who may not have the emotional strength at this time to become a fully fledged apostate.

  As it is not my responsibility to save the world from "false religion" it is not my responsibility to bring down the Watchtower or expose it in a Kingdom Hall. People know where I stand, they know it is my choice not to preach it, teach it or support it in any way. Let them find their own way. My family in are mostly as good as out. I don't care to fan the flames of thier ember like ties to the borg by engaging them in debates. Screw the Tower and its mind lock on people. I'm not the GD messiah. Get your own Christ to come expose the WT Moshe. If you think you have to be that, then have at it. I've abandoned my Christ complex.

  Does that mean, you don't care that more young JW kids will die this year from refusing a blood transfusion? If one million ex-JW's all stood up and said something publicly the WT would likely collapse. Oh, but that is somebody else's problem, let them do the public mea culpa for their years of aiding and defending the WT Cult, not me. As a former elder myself, I know just how much responsibility the elders had for controlling the JW's and being loyal minions of the WT Cult.

  BP, just how does an inside JW who wants to leave get the strength? You don't get it by joining a gym. Personally, I believe it all starts with being truthful- stop lying to yourself and to every JW around you.

  It’s not a case of people not caring. This board is testament to the fact that people care very much about others trapped in this cult.

  However, at the same time, not everyone can, or even wants, to do anything publically to shame the WTS. Already we have given so much of our lives to the Borg. Most, if not all, exJWs that I know, just want to get on with life.

  You may be retired, Moshe, so you have the liberty of having time on your hands but many people here have children to raise, jobs to go to, education to gain. Many also have to sort out psychological issues due to their JW upbringing. This takes our time and energy. Not to mention having to deal with former friends and relatives who are JWs, who may make life difficult for us to live our new life.

  The WTS has taken so much away from us. Now is our time to reclaim our lives.

  They say the best revenge is by living well. And it is.

  BP, I believe that years of WT conditioning to view worldly people as unworthy of our help has a latent affect on ex-JW's. Someday, you may want to speak out about what happens inside the KH. Opportunities to tell the truth about the WT religion present themselves all the time. Build a good and happy life, by all means you deserve that. I recently tried to interest a group of religious writers in doing a real expose' piece of JW's- not like those usual quick build KH puff pieces they usually write. I couldn't get one of them to even consider doing a story like that. I guess, that for paid writers, writing about the WT or JWs or kids dying from lack of blood transfusions is just not something they care to do- it seems they prefer "feel good" stories.

  My wife and I have a 10 year old daughter that we adopted from Russia in 2003, so our life is not typical of most retirees. I get a senior's discount, but our life is very similar to regular families- I only do part time or seasonal work, that is the difference.

  Don't you care that millions's of children will be sold into sex slavery in the world? Don't you care that millions wil starve to death every year in the world? Don't you care that people are losing their homes in this troubled economy? Be real, there are many horrendous things happening in the world. Yes its very evil, but I have no control over their lives. You think that one million ex-JW's would give a rat's *** to devote thier time to fighting a cult where parents are responsible for the safety of thier children and choose to kill them? That's on their heads. The truth is out there. They ignore it. Its thier CHOICE, NOT mine. I have no responsibility to make them choose the right way. If you want to crusade, have at it.

  The WT would not collapse from mere criticism. They would find a new parallel in scripture for the million man army attacking the "Truth" and the believers would eat it up. Remember, its a CULT and reasoning is not involved. You fight your fine fight Moshe, and more power to you. It ain't mine. If you want to criticize me for not joining your army, have at it. I won't feel guilt over it. I do my part with my opinions and videos. I still fade and because of it I am able to live my life and make surgical strikes against the cult leaders tendrils in the minds of my loved ones.

  Well, we will never know, if that is true or not, if ex-JW's//faders just keep quiet so as not to upset mommy and daddy, will we? The fact is, history is full of examples were public criticism and action does cause change. First comes criticism and next comes action, that is history 101. Who was the first person to start chipping away the concrete from the Berlin wall? -somebody had to be brave enough to be first!

  Wasanelder , sex slaves?--you are dodging the issue, by throwing up a red herring. JW's like to do that, too, in order to avoid facing the facts about their WatchTower cult. One day, mommy and daddy will be dead and then faders can get on with their life. Shunning is the crime and by keeping quiet, a person enables the WT to continue abusing it's members. No, faders are not living THEIR life- they are living the life the WT is making them live, the WT is still in charge of their fearful @ss and calling the shots.

  I believe Mathias Rust's flight to Moscow shortened the cold war and saved lives in the process. He followed his conviction, against overwhelming odds and that is something for us to contemplate.

  Well I guess your willingness to believe in such altruistic actions probably is what took you into the cult in the first place. Me too? To think that anything but economic failure on the part of the Soveit miliatry/social system was the cause of its demise and the destruction of the Berlin Wall is a pipedream. The Vietnam war became a burden financially. It wasn't the protestors who ended it. It will be the same in Afghanistan. It will be the same with the WT. When it is unable to support itself financially it will fall. So, you want to fight it? Ok. You have taken it on and I say, go for it. When your life is over you will be satisfied you made a difference.I've stopped waiting for afterlife approval ratings.

  Ok, red herring removed. Tell me I am responsible for the children who die due to thier parents adhearing to no blood rules. That is thier choice as I have said. You do not refute that I assume. Am I responsible for thier choice? I do not fear the WT. I do not fear DF'ing. I do not fear shunning. You assume I am. If I choose not to incur the loss of family during this life, of which I believe we have only one go at, so be it. I could give a shit if they shun anyone else. That's their choice. I am not giving my family that choice towards me. I have the non-WT-conforming life I want without DF or DA'ing. They know I want no part of it. It's my life and sorry but I'm enjoying it. I feel no constraints or limitations. No, I do not stand on the corner and call them babykillers or cult members. That's your job. I"m quite satisfied that I am not responsible for your happiness or approval. Good luck Moshe....
