PSacramento, so Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses are true Christians?
They SAY they are, do their actions confirm them as christians?
Its not about true or flase, its about being.
Are they?
No, they are not. The Jehovah's Witnesses are "Jehovahians" and the Mormons are "Smithians".
Salcoton..
I think Watchtowerians is more appropriate..
The WBT$ has the last word in any JW`s life..(Kinda,sorta,Life)..

A false christian is anoyne that SAYS that Jesus is their lord and saviour but doesn't believe it and does the opposite of His teachings.
PSAC, I just want to point out, that by your definition there are no true Christians. We all fall short in some way.

Yikes! There are SO many FALSE statements in these responses, my head is whirling (may you all have peace)!! Folks wonder why they don't hear. They wonder why they don't see. It is because... THEY DON'T LISTEN. I am directed, however, by my Lord, the Holy Spirit and Holy One of Israel, JAHESHUA MISCHAJAH, who is the SON... and Christ (chosen) of the MOST Holy One of Israel, JAH of Armies... to "expound the Way of the Truth" more accurately to you. To those who welcome such clarification, please read on. To those who take offense, none is intended but you do so out of the contents of your own heart.
Now then:
"... if a person believes that Christ is their lord and saviour and they follow his teachings, they are Christians."
"There is no such a thing as a "true" christian, if a person believes that Christ is their lord and saviour and they follow his teachings, they are Christians..."
Both of these statements are errors and totally disgregard the words of my Lord recorded at John 15:16, that:
"You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit-fruit that will last."
The truth of this verse is summed up in (1) it was my Lord who called his disciples... who went and found them... not they who went and found him; and (2) the fact that the demons BELIEVE (James 2:19)... and yet, they shudder. Belief, dear ones... is NOT the prerequisite. FAITH is the prerequisite... and they are not the same thing... not at all.
The problem arises when put others' words... Paul's, John's, whoever's... ABOVE Christ's. You CAN'T do that, dear ones, and yet say you follow Christ. HIS words are tantamount and others' words are valid ONLY where they are in line with his. Thus, Paul's admonition to the Corinthians to "remove" ANYONE... was false. As were a couple/few of his other admonitions. Does that make Paul false? Not necessarily - it makes him a bit self-righteous... and in need of further humbling. Which occurred, as you can see if you read his writings in the order they were written.
"I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am, you will indeed die in your sins." - John 8:24
This statement was made to the JEWS... and ONLY to the Jews. It was not made to the "nations." It is summed up in my Lord's words recorded at Matthew 23:37-39 and Luke 13:34, 35:
"Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets, and stone those who are sent to you, how often would I have gathered your children together, just as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you wouldn't have it! Look! Your house is abandoned to you. Truly, I say to you, you will NOT see me... until you say 'Blessed he is that comes in the name of JAH.'"
Why did my Lord make such a statement? Because the Jews did NOT accept him... AS THE SON OF GOD... and thus the one who came to them in the NAME of God... and thus, the One who is the WORD of God... and so SPEAKS for God. The One God SAID... to LISTEN to. His name, dear ones... is JAHESHUA MISCHAJAH. Because "JAH saves"... and he IS "the Chosen of JAH."
[NOTE: I am deeply saddened... as is my Lord... by those here who obviously don't get this truth, even now. Because the CLAIM to be "Israel," by claiming to be "christian," someone has been sent to THEM, as well, with these truths. Yet, they REFUSE to accept them, but wish to continue on in their error and own understanding. At the same time, they bemoan the fact that THEY have not heard nor seen this "Chosen One"... Christ... the Holy One of Israel... and often times malign and ridicule someone that says they have. They DON'T see or hear, however, because, like the Jews to whom my Lord was speaking, they CONTINUE to stick to their FALSE beliefs... and inaccurate understandings... about God... and about God's Word, about God's Son, the TRUTH... all of which are the Christ! If they don't change that, however, it WILL be the same for them... as it was for those whom my Lord addressed as above. May those with ears... HEAR!]
So, it is important for true Christians to have a specific belief about Jesus. Our salvation depends on it or we "die in our sins" as He said.
Again, the demons have such a belief. Indeed, their belief is even MORE accurate than some here! For what did THEY say of my Lord? That he is the SON... of God. SON... of the MOST High God:
"And suddenly they cried out, saying, "What have we to do with You, [ Jesus] , You Son of God? Have You come here to torment us before the time?" Matthew 8:29
"And he cried out with a loud voice and said, "What have I to do with You, [ Jesus] , Son of the Most High God? I implore You by God that You do not torment me." Mark 5:7
"When he saw Jesus, he cried out, fell down before Him, and with a loud voice said, "What have I to do with You, [Jesus], Son of the Most High God? I beg You, do not torment me!" Luke 8:28
The so-called "teachers" of "christianity"... whether they be recognized or not... teach you FALSELY when they do not acknowledge that my Lord, JAHESHUA MISCHAJAH, named in many Bibles as "Jesus"... is the SON of the Most High God... is the HOLY One of Israel... while HIS God and Father... and mine... JAH of Armies... is the MOST Holy One of Israel. They teach this falsehood because they neither know... or understand... what the TEMPLE "arrangement" actually is. The Holy... is NOT the Most Holy. While it is true that BOTH are in the temple... they are not one and the same compartment of the temple. They are separate compartments... in the one whole.
Did Jesus have the power to forgive sins? Yes.
This is a TRUE statement.
But only God can forgive sins! Exactly.
This is a FALSE statement (as is the next), as shown by:
"But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins"--then He said to the paralytic, "Arise, take up your bed, and go to your house."Matthew 9:6
It is NOTHING more than a continuation of the LACK of faith... and FALSE BELIEF... demonstrated by the Jews... that only God CAN forgive sins and anyone saying that THEY can is also saying that they ARE God... which is the BASIS for they FALSE accusation of blaspemy against my Lord! He said he was the SON of God... but THEY said that because he was saying he could forgive sins, he was saying he was God... which was blaspemy... because only God can forgive sins.
""Why does this [Man] speak blasphemies like this? Who can forgive sins but God alone?" Mark 2:7
To which my Lord is recorded to have responded:
"I will prove that I, the Son of Man, have the authority on earth to forgive sins." Mark 2:10
Why did he call himself the "Son of Man," here? Because he was saying that ALTHOUGH HE RESIDED IN THE FLESH... he had AUTHORITY, as a man IN FLESH... to forgive sins... something the Jews only though God... a SPIRIT... could do! But they were wrong... as are these here to push such falsehoods. Do NOT listen to such LIES, dear ones! GOD, the MOST Holy One of Israel... whose name is JAH of Armies... can give the POWER of forgiveness of sins... by means of His holy spirit... to ANYONE HE WISHES. And He gave that power to His Son... who, in turn, has AUTHORITY... to give it to others... and has given it to others, including you:
"[Jesus] came and told his disciples, "I have been givencomplete authority in heaven and on earth." Matthew 28:18
Thus, my Lord had authority to forgive sins because such authority was GIVEN to him... NOT because he possessed it in and of himself! So, do NOT believe them, dear ones... for they also do not "see" and so, their sins will also remain.
So, true Christianity is the belief that Jesus was fully man and fully God.
This is yet another LIE. If it were TRUE, then the forgiveness of sins by the APOSTLES... would mean that they, too, were fully men... and fully God:
It would mean that Paul was fully man... and fully God:
"When you forgive this man, I forgive him, too. And when I forgive him (for whatever is to be forgiven), I do so with Christ's authority for your benefit..." 2 Corinthians 2:10
It would mean that any of US who forgive sins... are fully men... and fully God:
"For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you." Matthew 6:14
Thus, we, too, would be part of the false "godhead" that so many teach!
Can a Christian just believe that Jesus was the "Son of God" / "Son of Man" be enough?
Not if they don't accept Jesus was God in the flesh. Even the demons knew Jesus was the "Son of God".
Yet, another LIE. We do not need to accept that my Lord was GOD in the flesh. What does the verse SAY?
"Without question, this is the great mystery of our faith: Christ appeared in the flesh and was shown to be righteous by the Spirit. He was seen by angels and was announced to the nations. He was believed on in the world and was taken up into heaven." 1 Timothy 3:16
"For both He who sanctifies (Christ)... and those who are being sanctified (the Body) [are] all of one, for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brothers, saying: "I (Christ) will declare Your (God's) name to My brothers (the Body); In the midst of the assembly (of his brothers) I will sing praise to You (God, not himself). And again: "I (Christ) will put My trust in Him (God)." And again: "Here am I (Christ) and the children whom God has given Me."Hebrews 12:11-13
When you read Bible versions that appear to make God the one speaking here, it is from those who falsely teach that Christ IS God. He is not. I have seen both, and they are NOT the same individual:
"Philip said, "Lord, show us the Father and we will be satisfied." Jesus replied, "Philip, don't you even yet know who I am, even after all the time I have been with you? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father! So why are you asking to see him? Don't you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words I say are not my own, but my Father who lives in me does his work through me. Just believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me. Or at least believe because of what you have seen me do." John 14:8-11
This statement sets forth the EXACT same principle as my Lord is recorded to have stated:
"When I am raised to life again, you will know that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. Those who obey my commandments are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them, and I will love them. And I will MAINFEST myself to each one of them." Judas (not Judas Iscariot, but the other disciple with that name) said to him, "Lord, why are you going to manifest yourself only to us and not to the world at large?" [Jesus] replied, "All those who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and live IN them. John 14:20-23
... and Paul is attributed with reiterating:
"Since Christ lives within you, even though your body will die because of sin, your spirit is alive because you have been made right with God. The Spirit of God, who raised [Jesus] from the dead, lives in you. And just as he raised Christ from the dead, he will give life to your mortal body by this same Spirit living within you." Romans 8:10, 11
"Moreover, demons came out of many people, shouting, "You are the Son of God!" But he rebuked them and would not allow them to speak, because they knew he was the Christ." - Luke 4:41
If just knowing that Jesus was the "Son of God" was enough ... the demons would be saved? Of course not. Demons didn't worship Jesus either.
This is true: just knowing that my Lord IS the Son of God is NOT enough. However, that "You must identify Jesus Christ as your Lord, Savior and God..." is not enough either! WHAT then IS enough? What defines you as a "christian"? Paul said it best:
"You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ." Romans 8:9
Simply CLAIMING to "belong" to the Christ, dear ones... simply CLAIMING to be "chosen" (thus, "anointed")... simply CLAIMING to "be a christian"... does NOT make one a "christian." TRUE Christians do not CHOOSE - they are CHOSEN. NONE of the apostles chose themselves. Cornelius didn't choose himself... something the WTBTS (and many other so-called "christian" religions) miss entirely. For they while they say out of one side of their mouths that it ISN'T up to the one "running". Yet, when such one PROFESSES to have received holy spirit... to have been chosen... by NO works of their own... but by GOD'S UNDESERVEDKINDNESS AND MERCY... which is NOT based soley on believing that he is the Christ (for the demons believe)... but is based on FAITH - faith that causes one to HEAR AND SEE him... so as to OBEY him... even though he is a SPIRIT.
You can say you believe all day long. You can say you love him all day long. But HE said:
"Why do you say you love me... and yet... DO NOT DO THE THINGS I SAY?"
WHAT things? The things he says to you NOW... TODAY. Starting with the smallest:
"You search the scriptures because you THINK that by means of THEM you will have life; and these are the very ones that bear witness about me. And yet, YOU DO NOT WANT... TO COME... TO ME..." John 5:39, 40
to another "small" one:
"UNLESS you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood... you have... NO LIFE... within yourselves." John 6:53
And, we are to KEEP DOING THIS... in REMEMBRANCE OF HIM.
But if we can even show ourselves faithful in these "least" things, dear ones, how in the WORLD do we believe are actually faithful in any of the "greater" things... such as loving even our enemies? We cannot.
I bid all those with ears to hear... and those without them to receive them if indeed they ask for and TRULY wish them!
A servant to the Household of God, Israel, and all those who go with... and a slave of Christ, to time indefinite...

A false Christian is anyone who does not believe one's own flavor of Christianity is the only flavor.
PSAC, I just want to point out, that by your definition there are no true Christians. We all fall short in some way.
That's right, there are no true or false christians, only Christians ( those that believe and try their best to live by that believe) and non-christians.
Anyone who isn't born again
