He is none of those thing....
Is Richard Dawkins an ostentatious acrimonious supercilious pusillanimous calumnious censorious vituperative querulous embittered obsessive and bombastic bully?

8 years and above and it is amazing. Lots of diagrams and images but I loved the section on evolution best.

Maybe I should have stuck with it. I gave up after what seemed to be an introductory lecture on how all other stories ae wrong, but Dawkins was going to tell you the real story. Sounded pretty arrogant and ignorant to me. Evolution is a good story, but there are other good stories too. Why the need to silence other stories?

Evolution is not a story, it is the best explanation for the diveristy of life we have with the evidence that we have.
The book covers more than evolution, it is a great introduction to the sciences, covering chemistry, physics and biology.

It is a narrative, is that more acceptable?

Its a fact.
It's the only game in town.
Here is a very small sample of the evidence...
If there are "other stories" where is the evidence for them?

Do you seriously think that humans after thousands of years have come up with the final origin myth never to be superseded ever? A bit arrogant, no?

I've watched some of his videos and whether he's right or wrong in what he believes he came across to me as being condescending, patronising and supercilious... put me right off. Just my 2 pennyworth.

That every living thing evolved over millions of years from a common ancestor will never be superseded.
There is lots more to be discovered and some current ideas will be discarded, but in a thousand years time the basics that we can study today will still be true.

I'm evolutionary atheist, myself. Unfortunately, i am into some woo. Mr dawkins would not be amused.
