I feel there is something after but haven't a clue what it is.

People all look for comfort, but Watchtower got one thing right:

Religion is a snare and a racket.

What would make someone believe that?

How about just the desire itself. Why have a desire to live at all if we weren't meant to live forever, somehow and in some form. You don't have to read a single thing to desire life, it doesn't have to be put into your head through any book or teaching. In fact maybe just the opposite, books and teachings through different sources teach us otherwise, that we will die. Now of course people have been dying for centurys but maybe only because we all have agree that we die. That's getting into Quantum Physics though and the power of belief. That teaches that if collectively as a race we started to agree otherwise, there's no reason why we couldn't heal ourselves and live for much longer maybe even forever.

    Just my thoughts.

Jeff, if you're dying of terminal cancer, is it wrong to hope for a cure? If you're suffering in life now, is it wrong to hope for something better afterward? It's just a hope. Why would you want to take that away from someone by convincing them that they're wrong? Why does it bother you that someone believes this?

There is a lot to be said for Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking Glass. They have one author, the inspired Lewis Carroll and the main character is female.

Talking animals; proof that spirits are involved. Alice changing physical shape; mysticism. A mad hatter. Deception; painting the roses red. The queen in charge sets up a rigged court and threatens to chop heads off. Alice tells them they are nothing but a pack of cards and escapes back to reality to realize it all happend inside her head!

All in all it is great fun, entertaining and utter nonsense. It has all the necessary ingredients to be designated as the real bible.

Damn, I get upset everytime I read the posts on this site. Now I have to consider the fact that Alice in Wonderland is just a myth?!

Now I am going to have to have to take a deep look into this Wizard of Oz thing to see if there are any falsehoods there.

And Donny, I'm also suspecting Harry Potter may not be real as well. Damn this site! Damn this site!

Fantasies are always better than reality whether they involve eternal life, the hope of perfect health,

riches, the perfect mate or sex partner, etc. Reality takes work that fantasy does not require.

"Why can't we believe both? Perhaps 'reality' is eternal life."

    Well said, Paul!

That would be the paradox Goldensky and Paul, wouldn't it? And we live in a paradoxical universe!
