If we are going by the cleanest bathroom , then I would be headed to he women's bathroom everytime. Women, you you would be appaled at how nasty teh men's bathroom is.
Well.... if you hae a husband or a couple of boys maybe not...
I dont think anyone would intentionally thumb their nose at a handicapped person going to the rest room. Kind of low....
I do. The floor I'm currently on, used to have someone disabled working in a different department. I would use it, but would do so cautiously because of him. Fortunately, his department got moved, so now I use whenever I want with no reservations.
Why is this a moral question? Is this a law that "only" handicapped people can use those? What about hidden disabilities? Do those count?
So, if I limp can I use it?
What about the stall with the baby changing table? Sometimes that and the handicapped stall are the same-who gets it first? The lady in the walker or the lady with the kid with a loaded diaper?
"I like to stretch out with a newspaper. Can't do that in the smaller stalls." LOL, Sacolton.
"Stop practicing my Kegels and hurry out of there!" LOL, Sylvia.
Now as for the "cleanest bathroom" ... that's debatable. I've asked female custodians which is worse and they all say the women's bathroom is nastier.
When I had small children who needed to use the bathroom then I would use the handicaped stall as dealing with a pushchair and my own mini toilet queue meant it was the most practical option. I would always check that no actual handicaped needed the toilet first but as a mum you do what you have to to get by.
Since we're on the subject of moral questions, I've got one in a similar vein, I don't think this is hijacking, ..................At Best Buy, there are parking spaces designated for pregnant women. I've spent my fair share of time at Best Buy, and rarely do I ever see pregnant women there. My question is, is it wrong for me to park in those spaces? Its not like I can get fined for doing it, like you can if you park in a disabled section. There's never any pregnant women there, so would I be wrong? Every time I go there, there are several available spaces I could use, but can't dont cuz I'm not preggers.
I use any stall that is available. If they are separate stalls and the men's is in use I use the women's. I have even encouraged waiting women into the men's but I best not go into that!
If I do use the handicap stall I limp heavily as I leave - just in case.

I used have my own cleaning business. It seemed to vary from place to place. I've cleaned nasty bathrooms for both genders.
