Granted that my wife is on both Medicare and Medicaid. But Medicare and Medicaid isn't the problem. It's the whole Health Care Industry.
Hospitals charges M&M tens of thousands of dollars for things like surgeries, seeing the doctors and the nurses caring for your needs. Also they charge anywhere from $1k to $3k for a overnight bed stay. In some cases, some surguries runs well over $100k. There's also x-rays and all other sorts of stuff.
EMTs charges between $400 to $900 for a one way trip to the hospital, depending on your state, city and county.
The Entire Health Care Industry is ripping off the US Government in the same way that they're being ripped off when purchasing a $8k hammer and a 1k toilet set for the military. Military supported factories makes billions of dollars charging US Government HUGE crazy amounts of money to supply all of our military bases.
Medicare and Medicaid is fine as it is, it's those that charges them that is the problem. So can you honestly say that these Medical Industries is charging a honest fee for a honest service? At present, I don't think so. When the US Government allows greed to take advantage of them, the US Government becomes enablers to feed their greed.
Put control on the Medical Industries and force them to be honest with how much they really should be charging for their services and the Health Insurance companies of the pirvate sector will stop bitching about how much they are paying out a buttload of money for the sake of the patients (and these "pre-existing conditions" will become less of a big deal) and most especially, the taxpayers will breathe a sigh of relief that it's not costing us billions of dollars to meet the needs of people like my wife for example.
Make the Health Industry honest and the headaches about healthcare will stop.
