I have suggested you google this subject and decide for yourself. There is far more information to confirm the Catholic inquisition than there is to confirm the life of Jesus. In the end people believe what it suits them to.
Should the Pope resign?

It depends on which part of its history you want to research.
Some weeks ago I watched a 58 minute video you tube which gave me an overview.
If you have the time and inclination, go to Youtube paste "Catholic Inquisition and The Torture Tools" in the search box. Gruesome but educating.
My interest was aroused by a thread on this forum. I realize it is all history now and have no particular axe to grind against the Roman Catholic Church. It does however cause me to question their claim to represent God.
Glad(iator) to see you back on the forum.

The RCC, like every other organization does NOT and has NEVER represnted God or Jesus or anyone but themselves (their heirachy).
I don't have 58 minutes to watch youtube, at least not right now, I will try to find the link and send it home to see later.
I was raised in Portugal and we studied the Inquisition there, The Spanish and Portuguese of course and the medivel one.
It was a horrific time and absolute proof of the dangers of believing that a group of people speak for God ( hear that JW's?).
Thanks for the welcome back :)

For what it is worth, I DO have an AXE to gring with the RCC and that is that, no matter how many times they get dragged into the mud, they seems to cling to the same old tired excuses and favour, above all things, the COVERUP.
All christians shoudl have an axe to grind in even more so, all RC.

The pope is at the CENTER of the policy to move and protect priests; the entire world should demand his resignation.
He is viewed, at minimum, as the spiritual leader of the world's catholics, and a world leader by any definintion. His office was responsible for the issue.
He is a failure, and an embarassment.

Looks like more trouble for the Pople in the news: Turns out a memo exists that shows he presided at a meeting reassigning a priest guilty of molestation just a couple days after he was put into psychological retraining. The guy later molested at least two more boys in the new assignment.
Previously, the Archdiocese of Germany claimed the Pope had no direct knowledge of the case.
