Not to say it's so...people just seem to be more willing to explore less conventional options than taking words at face value when there is no rational explanation for the event. I suspect there is more unexplored metaphor here. Imo, it could have been hallucinations due to a gas fissure as these gas leaks were prevalent all over the mountain side. That could be the explanation of the burning bush as well..imo.
This thread was actually supposed to be concerning the death of Moses...but as it has taken a strange turn...I suppose I will have to start another thread someday dealing with the death lore of Moses.

Sir 82 is on to something... Hey I'd get stoned too if I were forced to schlep around the desert for 40 years. Maybe he schlep around the desert cause he was stoned.
Maybe the Traffic song "Can't find my way home" was actually a song from Psalms but deleted for obvious reasons.
