    ballistic,

It is best you stay on your toes. I used to find that when I would get in certain places I would really get the urge to have a "coffin nail".

I used to stand by the sliding glass door on the back of my house and have a cigarette after dinner. Boy did I stay away from there!

Do what ever it takes to keep yourself tobacco free.

100 pounds saved huh? ......that is so great!

Not to even mention how greatful your body is.....

    Sunny....being very proud of ballistic!

Well, here we are! Tonight represented 3 months of not smoking. Thanks for all the support. In that 3 months I did once get pissed up with beer and had a cigar and I've had a few miserable moments, but it is getting easier and easier. I'm going whole days now without even thinking about smoking. I also had to give up cannibis but that doesnt really come into it as that was just habit and I didn't find it addictive. I've saved aroung 500 quid in that 3 months on the lower estimate of consumption and actually am testing at under 1 part per million carbon monoxide in my blood compared to 40 parts. This is not to mention my physical lung capacity and general well-being.
p.s. I have no excuse for the speeling mistakes now as I can noe see through the smog.

    ballistic,

I've thought about you alot lately. I've seen you start several threads and sure wanted to ask you if you were smoke free but didn't want to embarass you if you had that monkey back on your back.

I am sooo proud of you !!!

You really are over the worst of it. It does get easier as time goes by and you have found that out. But don't let your guard down.....mine is still up even after all the time thats gone by since I quit.

keep us posted on how you are doing.....

Sunny....*giving ballistic a big thumbs up!*

Don't worry. I'm not letting my gaurd down. I have to now think of the next thing such as more exercise or diet to give me something else to work on now having got a "G" with no counsel.
Being nearly 3 and a half months now, it's easy to look back and think how easy it was. I don't know what that phenomenon is called. But I have to keep telling myself how bloody hard it was and that one slip up is all it takes to return to 30 a day for me at least.

    (((Ballistic)))

    Good for you!
I found that getting past the three month hump was a HUGE milestone for me (as opposed to a millstone - lol).

Congratulations! It was bloody hard and is a great accomplishment.

Sounds like you are still quite determined not to get back into the grip of cigarette addiction. Determination is the ticket! Good job!

Thank you ballistic for bringing this up for me! That is so great you have succeeded! I look forward to being where you are.
There was alot of great advice. I think the biggest thing for me is I CANNOT GIVE IN AND HAVE A CIGARETTE OR EVEN A DRAG. When i think of wanting one, i think about the next and the next and being back to a pack a day. My mother in law quit for 10 years, then started back up again and now still smokes although she has emphysema.

I am feeling really spaced out today. I also feel like i am breathing deeper than i was when i was smoking. Its only been 3 days but when i take a breath, it seems longer and deeper. My jaws are so tense and my whole body aches! I know i have to keep going. It is not easy.
    Thank you again!
    peace-L
