How many disfellowshipped ones on this board have actually had follow up elder visits "encouraging" them to return to the meetings?
I have been DF'ed for 15 years now, and I have never had one visit (I am not saying that is a bad thing!) from an elder encouraging me to return to the Organization. I moved to another county after my exit, but it was certainly no secret where I was. My ex, a very active JW, knew my address as did my teenage kids. I even attended several Memorials in my new location and made no secret of my status. Come to think of it, no one ever really took the time to find out about me when I did go to the Memorial. My brother is an elder in a neighboring town, but as far as I know, he hasn't encouraged any follow up calls either. I find it interesting that such emphasis is placed on DF'ing being a loving provision used to "bring the erring one back to their senses", yet I have never heard a peep in 15 years. Is this the norm, or I am the exception?
Again, I am not complaining!...just curious as to other's experiences.
