Private and Confidential (yeah right)Dear Mrs...
On behalf of the xxxCongregation Body of Elders, we are writing to you just as a reminder about the truth in which we understood you once shared, and the way back should you wish to avail yourself of it.Each year we consider those in our territory who may have been seperated as a consequence of the application of the principles in
1 Corrinthians 5:1-13, and whether they may benefit as a reminder as to the way Jehovah wishes for us to imitate his mercy. This arrangement was explained in a Watchtower of 15th April 1991 in an article entitled "Will You Imitate God's Mercy?", based around the scriptures in Isaiah 1:16. 17; 55:6,7., Luke 15:4-10 and 15:11-32We have tried to call on you personally many times, but have not been able to make contact, and so we are writing this brief note to say that if you would like a copy of the article, or you wish to make an appointment to meet with us, please feel free to write, or call either xxxx or xxx
yours sincerelysigned by presiding overseer and secretary
i have since been asked if ive ever considered going back by the odd elder on my doorstep when theyve come across me on their doorknocking rounds but dont think anyones ever come knocking for that specific reason (more an afterthought) i'd be quite surprised if i get any jw visits for a while after the last pair.

Elders don't really like doing these calls; only if the CO pressures them or they have some kind of beef with you.

wife and I DA'd one year ago, got a call from an old ex'elder friend about the memorial yesterday.
i don't want to encourage anything, so i just ignored it.

Thanks for the responses...I think I detect a pattern of "out of sight, out of mind" syndrome. Blondie makes a good point about only calling on the cards in their territory, but it sounds like some have never had a follow up in the same congregation that removed them. It also sounds like most could care less if they ever receive a follow up!

the letter i got wasnt from the hall i came from as i'd moved out of my home town at that point, i was in the process of getting divorce so i think they were tipped off that i may be more receptive (get em while theyre down/vulnerable) lol
i think my mother was convinced i'd only left because of my boyfriend later to be my husband, in reality i had wanted out long before i'd even met him, when i left i knew i would never go back regardless of how my cookies crumbled.

Nothing! Not even an invite to the Memorial. I did have a lady come to my door last night inviting me to an Easter Service though.
