But the witnesses will quote the scripture that says "he who is faithful in the little things, will be faithful in the big things" or something like that. So in their mind they think if they nitpick all the little things to death, they will earn megapoints when the big things come up. Sickos.

Wow, I guess I can say par for the course for my wife. I guess being somewhat cold and callous is a witness trait.

My MIL, and faded Witness for several decades now, used to say her fleshly brother's wife (they are still JWs) was so self righteous that she used to say to her, "I thought the Witnesses didn't have saints, so you must be the first one!"

LOL I now call my self righteous mom Saint B________ and no, that doesn't stand for Bitch. But, she's another one that is working towards JW sainthood by hating all the right people.

    To a JW..

Being obedient to the WBT$,is showing love..

If the WBT$ says Shun your family..You lovingly Shun them..

If the WBT$ says Dicipline your Children at the Kingdom Hall..

You take them in the back and lovingly Beat the Shit out of them..

If the WBT$ says no Blood Transfusion for a family member..

    You lovingly Watch them die..

Theres nothing but Love,in Watchtower World..

    Anyone who does`nt believe that..

Is going to lovingly be killed at Armageddon..

    ................. ...OUTLAW

The solid eye-opener for me was when my mother died.

25 years in the same hall, then retired down south, only several old friends sent a card.

Not one elder/ friend of mine at the time even bothered to call, send a card, or stop by. yet I heard from several that I was missed

out in service, and the meetings.

Boy suddenly i realized i was in a very strange religion, I wrote my da letter a month later.

I have heard of boasting sessions that went on despite a foot of snow. One could easily have had an accident or got stuck in the snow on the way to the Kingdumb Hell, but they had the stupid boasting session anyways.

Also, I was supposed to attend the boasting sessions even if I had a cold. The natural thing would be, if you are too tired to make it, you don't. If you have something that could make half the congregation sick, you don't go even if you are feeling up to going. The same for field circus--I made the rule that, if I had something where I looked or sounded blatantly sick, I didn't go out in field circus (the hounders didn't like that too much).

For me, one of the strongest moments of seeing this was when a woman that was studying with my mother in law was in a horrible car accident. My Mother-in-law received word that she had died. The woman had only attended a few meeting, but was very familiar with the teachings. On scene of the accident the woman told the responders that she refused to take blood to save her life.

This story was told to me by my mother-in-law two days before the woman's funeral service. I asked her if she was going to attend or go over to the family's home and in some way show some congergation support. She said "No" because the woman had not been attending regular.

I think my MIL saw the shock in my eyes. But she didn't say anything. That night I did a lot of thinking. I have always considered my MIL a wonderful woman and a witness. I was shocked.

I recall hundreds of times that I heard witlesses say to me "I didn't really want to be out in service today, but my 'obedience' to Jehovah drove me to drag myself out of bed and to the hall this morning" - or similar.

I wondered at the time how pleased Jehovah would have been with that, and how Jesus would have reacted to his apostles telling him that.

Yes, it is a sick cult. But then aren't all cults sick?

All Witnesses are friggin Robots! Leave your brain at the door. They "love" you until you have doubts or don't want to be baptized.

This whole JW mindset started when Rutherford began ranting against one of Russell's cornerstone teaching: character development. Russell thought it was essential to being a Christian.

Rutherford thought it took too much time away from selling his precious books, so he continually ranted that it was a waste of time. The mindset continues to this day.

Therefore, Rutherford was a "character" who had no character.
