A Black female friend of mine was studying a bible with a white JW dub, a couple of years ago. She was told point blank that black people will not go to heaven as they are not part of 144,000. You know what? she stopped studying and ended it.
Unfortunately, I do not doubt this (may you all have peace!). I truly believe the reason my "hope" was utterly discounted was not so much my age but (perhaps coupled with that), because I am black. No, folks, seriously. I do know that "they" have problems with "young" ones partaking, yes. But young AND black? Seriously??? They have a MUCH greater problem with that. As I posted previously, the man who handed me and my companion the bread this past Tuesday evening literally snorted with laughter when we partook. Yep, she is black, too! Oh, and with dreds. Clean, well-kempt, shoulder-length dreds... but dreds nonetheless.
Can you imagine how he would have reacted had I worn my Angela Davis afro??!!! (which I SO want to do because heat and chemicals almost ruined my hair once, but most of society can't handle that, let alone the "outward appearance" conscious WTBTS'ers...)
Anointed, black and [very] "elderly"? Maybe. Rare, but maybe. Anointed, white and young? Perhaps. Doubtful, but perhaps. Black and young? Abso-flippin-lutely not. Do you hear me? NOT.
There's a message there, dear ones... and no, I'm not being paranoid. I knew the thoughts behind the "looks" and understood the meaning behind the inuendos. And they had WAY much less to do with my age... than with my skin. Ah, well... "their" loss...
Peace!
A slave of Christ,
