Let me get this straight: if YOU were not affected by any sort of sanctions, you would care??

Once again, I go to the Catholics. They will remain Catholics as long as no one "punishes" them.

As for myself I just has privileges restricted once for having too long of hair, I never was DA OR DF.

I left simply out lack of support and belief of the WTS. doctrines.

Never had any problems with elders, well my best friend dad at the time was the PO.

Even when all of my family were in, I did a simple fade and nothing was really made a big deal out of it,

except my father being a bit annoyed.

Its obviously much harder for some folks especially being DFed and your immediate family being a bunch devoted hard liners.

I don't know what CATHOLIC CHURCH that you go to but...

We are taught that being a Christian isn't something that is done in church or by passing out pamphlets

We believe that Jesus Christ was born of the Virgin Mary, died for our sins, and showed us how to live by example.

We go to mass primarily for the Eucharist (blood & wine).

The Vatican may have a certain stance on a certain subject but we are free to make choices in life answering only to GOD.

The Deacon of my Church told me a while back, "Go preach to everyone around you and if you absolutely have to, you can use words".

In my opinion you can't confirm or deny someone is a practicing Catholic by his attendance in church or by how many times he has been to confession (which is called reconciliation, and recommended at least once a year). The only way you can identify a non practicing Catholic is by looking at his heart through his deeds.

yep I would care . The relegion is based on control even if they did not sanction you, they still would want you to do what they say without questioning.

    NO.

There is much more wrong than doctrine. I have heard many say.. "I would stay/return if they fixed this belief" If that is the case then they are blind to what the real problem is, and they have my sorrow.

My point is: we do not want to be known as JWs BUT I think it's because of the results we face at this time. Remember Herbert Armstrong's religion? The religion was very similar to JWs...... NOW they are more mainstream and aren't extremists like Witnesses are. Being a member of that religion is not such a horrible thing! They even publicly repudiated their past...... I say if JWs didn't beat down their members, more wouldn't be so hostile toward the Witnesses.

First off, Being a Jehovah's Witness means we have "witnessed Jehovah" and I haven't. So, I'd be lying. Besides, it is a really crappy

name for the Supreme Being. Yahweh sounds like an Arapaho tribal deity to me. Almighty God needs a kick-ass name like THOR!

Secondly, hanging out with followers who chit-chat about how great brother Bluto's assembly speech was gives me a hernia just thinking about it.

Third, knocking on people's door and flashing those magazines at them is really no better than peddling a vaccuum cleaner: they both suck!

What could possibly attract any thinking person to a Kingdom Hall? The brotherhood? Give me a dinosaur-sized break!

The most fun I had with the brothers was when we were being naughty lads on the fringe of --gasp--worldliness!

And fun with sisters? What a guilt-ridden, blue-balled, nightmare of repression, anxiety and masturbation fantasy that was!!

Nope, I like things just the way they are. Me and an empty sky.
