Imagine the wonderful things I could have done for the good news of God's kingdom if only I had had true and proper balls.

    Thanks for the laugh!

    Depending on the meeting:

Sunday's - What to cook for lunch or where I was going out that evening.

Tuesday's (book study) - Work or school stuff.

Thursday's - Same as Tues, but also would think about the weekend and going out.

My mind wanders easily, I even fell asleep a few times.

I would think of the sisters with nice legs LOL

Oh.....and football. I would replay games in my head. No.....I'm not lying.

I used to surf the net on my phone or think of different ways in which to torture certain elders.

Do you think this could have contributed to my short attention span? I can be watching one of my wife's CSI shows with her (my eyes completely glued to the t.v.) and in the last ten minutes she'll ask me, "do you think the mom was involved?" and I have absolutely no idea what the hell she's talking about.

When I was a little kid, I would try to be as perfect as possible so that hopefully my father would be in a good mood and not beat my siblings and I within an inch of our life when we got home. He would never take us to the library during the meeting because he couldn't beat us hard enough in there, everyone would hear. We usually knew that it was coming when we got home. He was such a good father. A real "spare the rod, spoil the child" kinda guy!!!!

Then, as I got into my teens, he became inactive, (big relief) And then I would look around at other people, and wonder if they were paying attention or just as bored as I was!!!! I felt guilty, but I couldn't help it!!!! Same old S***, different day. I was so tired of hearing the same things over and over. The same counsel, same scriptures, same hypocrites on the platform.

    Sex or video games.

It's amazing how good a person can get at tuning out, but then being able to briefly 'wake up' whenever a scripture is said so you can thumb to it in your book. Then its straight back to la-la-land.

The meetings were bitter-sweet for me. My mother was inactive and my father was half-assed about it so I thought we were gonna die if we didn't attend and apply everything little nuance that was shoved down our throats so for years I paid attention like a soldier - i had to for my family.

The sweet part is that there were about 7 major families in the congregation so lots of us grew up together. And the congregation was funny as hell. Somebody was always doing something whacky, trippin off the stage, forgetting their lines for a talk or demo. Or just plain cutting up........Those really were some good memories.

In the years before our fade, my husband and I would sit at the meetings finding lies and inconsistencies in the Bible and literature......Good times indeed!

sex ( I am serious) used to think about it during the meeting - I think there are a lot of sexually repressed people in JWs
