I hated field service and would avoid it as much as possible.I tried to work on my own if i could and would just drive some where and lisern to music or pretend i had return visits and just go home.What did you do to get out of the misery service?

I just never went that often. Enough to have a few hours per month. What I did not want to do was certain kinds of witnessing, like walking through the mall or telephone witnessing. I never had the opportunity to work on my own. All one could really do is just hope for rain so you wouldn't have to go out.

I never avoided it, I just focussed on the bits I liked - like the call on the old bids who always provided tea and cake.

i simply could not take it anymore,,,,,and did not how to handle the situation without all the drama that comes with it...i was an elders wife,,,who emotionally died....so,,,,i did the only thing i could think of,,,,i lied....i simply put down hours,,,return visits,,,,mags,,,etc...i felt horrible for lying,,,,and would cry when i did it....but...eventually i became numb....and...that helped alot....

I just didn't go that much either, but I still remember being forced to go out with Cantleave and Nugget when I visited. All I wanted to do was hang out and have fun you party poopers!
When I did go out I liked country territory long drives to get there, houses nicely spaced apart. If you’re lucky you could do 3 maybe 4 houses in an hour and most would be not-at-homes.

I just didn't go and justified it by saying it was already complete.
A few years back a district overseer named Brother Woodley said from the podeum at a circuit assembly that the "Preaching work is already complete. Too many babies are born a second to preach to everyone."
Done eh? Well sounds good to me! Time to relax on saturdays!

went out in the week driving the Old Birds to there calls and never went out at weekends as the football was on the TV and told them that it was more important.
