In the last several years, I had a strict limit of one hour a month--and I usually stuck with that limit. Sometimes I would walk back from the Kingdumb Hell and pretend to do street work. Ultimately I totally dogged placing anything.

One time, they made it quite easy. We went to a book store to bug customers (surprisingly, the management didn't kick us out). While everyone else dutifully sought other customers, I sought out areas where there were none. I spent more time browsing through books than I did actually preaching that day.

I mostly impromptu witnessed, or whatever they call that now. I've always found it easy to talk to people, I just hated that door to door harassment thing.

The problem was, I actually listened to other people instead of preaching at them. I started thinking and well....you know what happens when you think.

But, a sure fire way to get out of it was to switch my work schedule around...OH, darn, I have to work Saturday, sorry!

Luckily, my Mom was a smoker and used this as an excuse for her not to go out in Field Serve-Us. When she tried to force me to go, I told her I would start smoking then.

I never smoked.... and I never went door-to-door.
