MadJ, Sorry I seemed to drop out. Am considering our discussion,how to get it off high center. Also my job taking care of a little boy with CP has been particularly wearing this past week. And I'm going to have to move at the end of the month after my youngest gradutes HS in a couple of weeks. However, this dialog is certainly an exchange that stays present in my thoughts and I hope to give you your due in the next day or so.

Been thinking... the difficulty of communicating a thought from one human to another (marriage is like that too) is so much evident in our discussion. Don't you see how God would have over-run Abraham's thought processes to instil His meaning--that would have been violating the essences of what listening is. God had to present a dilemna to Abraham that Jesus spoke of later:" 'I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, And the God of Jacob.' He is not the God of the dead but of the living." Matt. 22:32

I got over those sorts of dilemmas when I realised that other cultures had similar, but just as unrealsistic, scenarios in them.
e.g. Would I be having the same problems as I have with my parent's version of creation if they had been Australian Aborigines instead of followers of a Middle Eastern cult?
Before you start arguing the toss over the meanings of the religious book that was chosen for you by your parents you have to ask youself if it really is relevant. I forgot to do that. Dad forgot to do that. Mum forgot to do that.
Why should the folklore of Middle Eastern goat herders have precedence over the folklore of Australian Aborigines? The Abos were in Australia 30,000 years before the goat herder's Adam was even created.... and goat herder's creator forgot that Adam needed a woman to procreate....Duh...."Whoops. Why wouldn't it simply be effective for Jesus to be pulled down from crucifixion BEFORE he died and count it as a win?
