    NVL,

The trick question is as follows:

How do you determine what is true?

If you believe that it is impossible for our planet to have been totally covered in water at one time (as you claimed), what is your evidence for that impossiblity?

I believe that when god created clouds he made them out of cotton candy.

    Do you believe this Perry?

If not, what is your evidence?

    (Careful, it's a trick question)

I have this question (after all these pages of thread hijack) -

Does ANYBODY posting here (especially - does Perry) actually think that the report from the title of this thread is true?

That is - does anybody actually believe that these fakers really found Noah's Ark?

Oh, what the hey, I'll bite:

I do believe the planet was totally (or at least mostly) covered in water "at one time".

I do not believe the planet was totally covered in water 4,800 years ago.

There are lots of lines of compelling (to me, anyway) evidence: Geological, biological, written historical records, physical...

I don't know any of this - no one really knows anything. People are convinced or persuaded by the evidence that they find most compelling. Having studied (informally, to no great depth) the lines of evidence, I find no compelling reason to believe that 4800 years ago, all the surface of the earth was covered with water. In fact, the evidence indicates that most certainly the earth was not totally inundated that recently.

Others will fill in details of that evidence, or already have, I'm supposed to be working....

Why is that a trick? If so, it's no more clever than asking someone how they cook their eggs. If they say "fried" you would answer "but evidence proves they can also be boiled, so you are not correct!" It's about as clever as a tricking a 6 month old into thing you are not there during peek-a-boo.

Geological record. But let's be clear, I am saying no biblical flood occurred during the time that man has existed. There COULD have been a time, billions of years ago, prior to the rise of the continents, but there is no proof one way or another that this was the case.

The fact that Noah's Flood was supposed to happen approximately 5,000 years ago or around 2300 BCE and literally wipe out Civilization and anything man-made. Yet the Great Pyramid of Egypt is dated to around 2500 - 2600 BCE, which makes it older than the Flood. Care to explain how the Great Pyramid managed to survived this global catastrophe??

It's made out of brick. Everything made from brick is sturdier.

Actually, interesting thing, the blocks the pyramid is made of contains fossils of freshwater creatures.

I don't say it is impossible, just extremely improbable. Extremely, extremely, improbable. None of the physical evidence supports a global flood a few thousand years ago.

The Water Cycle: Water Storage in the Atmosphere

The atmosphere is full of water

Clouds. The water cycle is all about storing water and moving water on, in, and above the Earth. Although the atmosphere may not be a great storehouse of water, it is the superhighway used to move water around the globe. Evaporation and transpiration change liquid water into vapor, which ascends into the atmosphere due to rising air currents. Cooler temperatures aloft allow the vapor to condense into clouds and strong winds move the clouds around the world until the water falls as precipitation to replenish the earthbound parts of the water cycle. About 90 percent of water in the atmosphere is produced by evaporation from water bodies, while the other 10 percent comes from transpiration from plants.

There is always water in the atmosphere. Clouds are, of course, the most visible manifestation of atmospheric water, but even clear air contains water—water in particles that are too small to be seen. One estimate of the volume of water in the atmosphere at any one time is about 3,100 cubic miles (mi 3 ) or 12,900 cubic kilometers (km 3 ). That may sound like a lot, but it is only about 0.001 percent of the total Earth's water volume of about 332,500,000 mi 3 (1,385,000,000 km 3 ), as shown in the table below. If all of the water in the atmosphere rained down at once, it would only cover the ground to a depth of 2.5 centimeters, about 1 inch.

    Quick!..
    Somebody build Perry an Ark!!..

If there`s ever a Flood..Globel water levels will go up by One Inch!!..
