The JWs and many other religions have distanced themselves from 'Young Earth' Creationism.
Up to a point they have (the JWs). They merely dropped using the 7,000 year creative day idea in favor of "thousands" of years.
But don't they still accept approximately the Bishop James Usher "biblical" chronology for the creation of man? I.E. approx 4000 BC Eden?
It is still just as hard to get past scientifically as the "old light".
