Considering the fact that all of our ancestors have filtered all of society through pagan origins it should come as no surprise
that everything (including Christianity) is steeped in it.
JW's simply pretend they are the only ones who can detect the stench of it.
They pick and choose and act like Claude Rains in CASABLANCA, "I'm shocked--shocked, I tell you that gambling is going on here." (He was standing in a casino that he frequented regularly.)
