The Debate: Do JW's Need Respect?

This thread will hopefully serve as the platform for a friendly debate about the issue of how much respect the Watchtower Society deserves from ex-Jehovah's Witnesses. Do we blast the hell out of the Borg and don't let a kind word in edgewise? Do we acknowledge that they have done some things right and (shudder) even good? Should we respect someone's choice to return to the Borg?

This thread originally started as a duel with Joelbear but there was confustion about the issues involved and this following debate does not single out any individual but hopes to focus on the views of the ex-JW community at large.

Taking the challenge in favor of showing some respect for the Witnesses is Tim B and I will be presenting views from the opposite side. Vencie has volunteered to be the Judge to make us both play fair and keep things friendly. Any of you are invited to share your ideas and feelings.

We as ex jehovah witnesses should give
sincere jehovah witnesses there respect
since they are being mislead as we once were being
mislead.It isn't easy, but people gave us ex-jehovah
witnesses the respect when we were jehovah witnesses
defending the watchtower out of sincerity.How are
we any better or smarter then they are ? If we were
we would have never became one in the first place.

Those who run the watchtower bible and tract society
should not at all be given respect AT ALL FROM EX JEHOVAH WITNESSES.They are the brain washing bandits who play god
so too hell with them. WE AS EX DUBS KNOW THIS TO BE THE TRUTH.

You say respect the members but not the GB members because they are bandits.
The GB INDIVIDUALS are just as brainwashed as the members.
As individuals they are no different.
We must respect them ALL as human beings, but we must disrepect the Watchtower organizational structure.
Its not the people individually, its the way the org is RUN thats the problem. You gotta stop their practises.

Jimmy boy was one of the dearest sweetest blokes youd ever meet when he started out,he sacrificed years of unpaid personal effort fighting for the rights of oppressed minorities, it was his organizations eventual practises that became monstrous.He was as much a victim of the system they built as everyone else in the cult. They ALL got lost in there.
