Witnesses grab onto any negative world event, no matter how minor (not that your examples are minor) to say `See, this proves it`s the time of the end`. Many are actually giddy with excitement.

Still, while reflecting on their years as witnesses and the previous world events where nothing ultimately happened (relatively speaking), I know some witnesses are starting to panic and will overemphasize statements made from the platform to try to compensate for their own doubts.

My parents never thought I was going to go to school. . . . let alone graduate (gasp!)

I think of my mother who has invested 55 years of her life in believing this. Now that she is in her 80's and facing serious medical conditions, she can't toss that away.

Younger jws are less invested spiritually and religiously in their religion; most hardly know why they believe what they do, just following the WTS and whatever they say.

Now in my case, even if there was a new system of the WTS making, I would rather live my few short years here and now, than forever under the WTS regime.

I am always amazed at the guallability of these people. Whenever I hear one of them say that I always ask, "So has the King of the North been unmasked? Are we in the Great Tribulation right now?" If not, then we are NOT "Deep in the time of The End" because those things must come to pass before the true "End", Armaggedon is upon us.

JW's have a short-term memory, no doubt about it. All growing up (in the 1980's) there was this big deal about the cry of peace and security being declared, and then the King of the North having to be revealed, and then world governments turning on religion to usher in the Great Tribulation and Jehovah God's wrath.

Do not any of these fools remember these teachings? They were taught as CERTAINTY, a divine, biblical timeline of events which was laid out by Danial and Revelations. It's like they've completely forgotten about it!!! Now they just keep spouting out "The End is soooooo close" like some sort of retarded parrot. Either bring some real PROOF to the table, or shut your mouth. You can't keep crying wolf and expecting everyone to believe you.

After the DC last June, my Dad calls and tells me "They're saying the end is real close now."

I said to him "Jehovah's Witnesses have been saying that for over 130 years. 130 years isn't close, Dad. When you keep saying the end is coming and it doesn't come, you lose credibility."

He hasn't mentioned the end being close now since that conversation.
