I come from an Hindu background. But later with the help of a person called Esac[A JW hiimself maleshpaly congregaion, Bangalore, India] through whom I learnt about bible.
Now I believe in YHWH (Yahweh or Yehovah) but I am unable to belive Jesus character is the promised messiah according to Old-Testament.

    Welcome to our forum, trex2strike.

If you want to understand Christianity better, I do not recommend Jehovah's Witnesses to you. They do not represent proper Christian beliefs. I was a loyal, active, Jehovah's Witness for more than 30 years, and had a position of responsibility, so I speak from experience.

You should communicate with a different religious group. There are many of them in India, as you know. Then, when you hear what they have to say regarding Jesus, you will be listening to better information. This will help you make better decisions.

I recommend one of the original Indian churches to you, that have been there for 2000 years since the Apostle Thomas went there. These are Christian, and also truly Indian. There are Malankara churches that are either Orthodox, Catholic, or Syrian. I checked Google, and there seem to be many in Bangalore.

    Peace,

    Welcome trex2strike!

Affirmative I have read NT (1).....as well as entire OT(5 times)

I suggest you read more New Testament :)

    Hebrews 8:13 (New International Version)

13 By calling this covenant "new," he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and aging will soon disappear.

    Blessings,

    Stephen

Stephen is quite correct, the only true picture you get of Christ is in the NT.

As Paul was found of saying, If the writers of the OT had gotten it right, there would have been no need for Jesus to set them straight. (Paraphrasing).

Question for you: If you realized the JWs religion is false. Would you go back to Hinduism? or would you stick around Christianism? I ask because a lot of JWs who leave the religion go back to Christianism since that was their upbringing.

Has it crossed your mind that Esac might not have been helping you at all because he might be a member of a high control cult?

Do you know what I mean by a high control cult?

Do you know how they operate?

Do you know the methods they use to control minds?

Was Esac and his Watchtower using any of those methods on you?

Has it occurred to you that the reason the Bible doesn't always make sense, could be because it doesn't?

How do you know it is the thoughts of God about man?

How do you know it is not just men's thoughts about god? If it was, would that explain why it doesn't always make sense?

    Cheers

    Chris

Dearest trex2strike... may you have peace!

A lot of "good" advice here, maybe. Once kind poster wrote:

the only true picture you get of Christ is in the NT

I would like to offer, however, that Christ himself really is the best "picture" you get of him... and of the Most Holy One of Israel, JAH of Armies (JaHVeH).

You said you read the OT (5 times) and the NT (once). May I ask, did you happen to read John 5:39, 40? Perhaps not (or, if you did, perhaps you didn't get the sense of it) so I will quote it for you. Also, since you appear to [rightly] have issues with the WTBTS, I will use a couple/few other versions, vs. the NWT:

"You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life." NKJV

"You search the Scriptures because you believe they give you eternal life. But the Scriptures point to me! Yet you refuse to come to me so that I can give you this eternal life." NLT

"You diligently study the Scriptures because you think that by them you possess eternal life. These are the Scriptures that testify about me, yet you refuse to come to me to have life." NIV

I think you get the drift...

However, the TRUTH, dear one, is that we cannot "come" to Christ... unless the Father... the One whom you say you DO believe in... first draws us TO him (Christ). After which we do not choose Christ; Christ... chooses us.

Dear Sylvia's quote probably gave the best advice: ASK. But perhaps you don't know what to ask FOR, so I will give you another quote, that perhaps you also overlooked (or maybe not, but just need a brief reminder?):

"And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and [Jesus] Christ whom You have sent." NKJV

"And this is the way to have eternal life--to know you, the only true God, and [Jesus] Christ, the one you sent to earth." NLT

"Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and [Jesus Christ], whom you have sent." NIV

"And this is eternal life, that they know thee the only true God, and [Jesus Christ] whom thou hast sent." RSV

Again, I think you get the drift.

My point? You cannot know God... if you don't know Christ... and so you kind of have it backwards. Ask, however, to know CHRIST... and you won't only believe in the True God (JaHVeH, which is the name of the Most Holy One of Israel and means "JAH, who causes armies [of angels] to become/breathes into existence armies of angels")... but will KNOW Him, as well!

I bid you peace... and ears to hear... when the Spirit and the Bride say to YOU:

"Come! Take 'life's water'... the holy spirit of God, which spirit is poured out from the innermost parts of the Holy One of Israel and Holy Spirit, JAHESHUA MISCHAJAH, who is the Son and Christ of the MOST Holy One of Israel, JAH... of Armies... FREE!"

    A slave of Christ,

    SA

I am not a after eternal life, paradise, residence in heaven, 72 virgins,....and tons of other goodies/thrashes.

The moment I started to suspect about the very messianic claimant (J-Guy). All began to collapse... After all I was believing & sticking to him bcoz he would give me the so called eternal life under the condition of worship, obeisance, praise, respect, reputation..etc Equivalent or greater to that of true G-D of Isra. Eventhough JW's or any other xtian orgs are used to deny or downplay they didn't hold J-Guy above G-D but it was very much evident from their actions, speeches, songs or prayers rather than their consolidatry scripted words or semantics.

There by I realised that J-guy is just another masiach(messiah) claimant. 30 odd claimants notably shabbtai tzvi, Schneerson, The alien hunter Rael have nothing to with the Bible or G-D. This list includes the J-or Y guy too.

That's my opinion I wish to conclude and end this topic created 1/2 year back. I am noahide now and....

thnx folks I would be no longer using this forum regularly....adios

Trex- No one holds Christ above his Father, least of all Christ himself. But to come to know the Father, one must know Christ - one must look through Christ to see God.

After all I was believing & sticking to him bcoz he would give me the so called eternal life under the condition of worship, obeisance, praise, respect, reputation..etc

I think that if you knew Christ, Trex, you would stick to him out of love - even more than you would for the hope of eternal life, although there is nothing wrong with hoping for that life.
