Greenhorns have it very rough. Haven't you ever seen Grizzly Adams or The Wilderness Family?

    Asilenteone..

You can have electricity and a phone..Theres usually some place to hook up where I move..

I also have my own generator..

You have to make or import your own heat,be it wood or gas..

I`ve had a well for water at both places

I use satellite for tv and radio..I`ll use it for Internet too this next time around..

Haw!!! OUTLAW, you're in British Columbia!!! Isn't the vegetation dense enough to screen you from neighbors, even if they're only 30 feet or so away???

Zid - who's backpacked in British Columbia... (Black Tusk area...) And it was pretty cushy camping, for a backwoods camp, too... Bear-proof cabin for our backpacks and food!!!

For how long? For a few days?Or for a lifetime? You are going to get sick or wounded. You will also lose a LOT of weight (mainly body mass and fat) and you can die in a few days if you get infected by something.Wanted to do the same thing with a friend in a frozen forest in the north. You know what?We would freeze to death.Today's ppl can't live in the plains/forests/mountains.Of course nature is charming, beautiful etc but when it comes to survival you'd better forget about feelings pity and pain because you will have to kill animals skin them eat them etc etc.

    LOL!!@RosePetal..

There was a lot of Wildlife were I was..

A big brown bear lived just down the mountain..He was huge and fluffy..

Like a big stuffed toy.He was so pretty he did`nt look real..

As I passed by a neighbours ranch one evening I saw about 50 deer in his yard..

I could have hit one with a beer bottle..LOL!!

Deer and Cariboo constantly wandered through my ranch..

    I had squirrels,ground hogs,rattlesnakes,wild turkeys..ect..ect..It was like I had my own zoo.

Wild turkeys are huge..The males are impressive.Very colourful..

This picture doesnt do them justice..

    Zid..

There are about 500-600 people scattered around, over miles and miles of mountains..

I`m used to and like, a lot less..

The nearest town of any size is a 1 hr+ drive..

    (Grocery store,pharmacy,Hardwarestore,doctor..ect..ect....)

Thats too much civilization for my liking..

OUTLAW, if you're trying to get your venison by hitting them with beer bottles, I am seriously worried about your chances of survival...
