I think the only denim that is wrong is blue denim. Denim can be white, black, green, red, yellow and brown. I doubt the elders would recognize denim in any color but blue.
Oh BTW, I'm stumbled by that woman's 3-inch spike heels and pointed toes. Too worldly!
One night while I was an attendant, (shortly after I "woke up"), I took down this disgusting thing from our information board, ripped it up and threw it away. Then I dumped gasoline into the barrel and lit it on fire. I proceeded to urinate on the fire so no one would smell the smoke... ok, ok...I kidd, but I really did throw it away so no one would be stumbled by it...in my eyes.
Well, I'm strangely excited by the spiked heels and that heavenly look. Mmmm
So let me get it straight.
For men, new jeans are ok, faded jeans are not...except new, baggy jeans are not ok.
For women - no jeans and no denim skirts. I'll just accept the color matter, although in a strict interpretation of the law red denim is denim....and with those spiked heels really, really hot.
Reminds me of the good ole days when the GB tried to rule on sex...without ever using any of the words. Oral sex was wrong of course...but what exactly is 'oral sex'? Anal sex taboo. What else? Those were some fun studies...till I got home and even missionary sex was suspect.
Maybe pictures would have helped. On the bulletin board would be particularly helpful. Even more reason to stand in the back mid way through the meeting.
They make the PUBLIC dress like this to visit Bethel? Or cant you VISIT unless you are a JW?
Yeah, that was always my question? What do they say to "worldly" people who just walk up to Bethel and want to take the tour? The would never turn them away for not wearing the right thing! When I was still in and they announced that little jewel of a brochure and then went over it a dozen times and then hung it on the board, I just rolled my eyes
Well, everyone confirmed it and I would have to agree. This, sadly, is very much for real. I saw one of these on the bulletin board at my wife's KH and I remember showing it to my daughter.
Now to be fair, I remember visiting a Catholic Cathedral in Spain with a tour group and remember them actually stopping one guy from entering because his tank top shirt looked a little too revealing. However, the rest of us were dressed a 'little too casual' ourselves and they were okay with that.
My gift to Bethel...
And another...... blow it out yur a$$
Let's watch how we walk
and watch how we talk
and watch what we share
and watch what we wear
and watch what we do
and watch how we poo
and stumble none in our ministry ...
