I can't tell you how different my life would've been if I played organized sports. I always played with my friends but never in an organized league.

    I know I would've gotten a college scholorship.

Did they clearly state his father was an ex-JW?

If so, this would be an admission that the "ex-JW father" is a big problem in the organization.

I have just began to enjoy sports in the last 3 years. Growing up a JW, I NEVER went to a football game, basketball game, baseball or any sporting event in my life. (Except for a football game at 5 years old, which I can barely rememeber). Then when I got into the working world, I found that everybody (in the south esp) LOVES sports. So for quite a few years I just listened to their stories anf felt lost. But a few years ago I started watching games and cultivating an interest in football, followed by baseball and a little of basketball. I really enjoy them now. I regularly go to games several times a year also now.

I remember when my sons were young and they both loved football, played well and were invited to play for local teams and we had to stop it happening because it was so disapproved of and the Saturday morning league would've messed with the field service arrangements....

I feel so guilty about it now....how could I have done that to them?....

No offense to you converts... But I never saw a JW that was confident, independent or a leader.

Don't worry, they won't get offended, you just complimented them. Except confidence the other two qualities are seen as negative ones. You should always be a follower, and independence is a tool of Satan.
