Its not that complicated. The thing that does the greates good for the largest number of people in a peacfull way is all you need.

I think the issue may be "complicated" by the fact that only 33% of the world's population is Christian.

How can you form a religion with the goal of "the thing that does the greatest good" around a set of beliefs only a minority of people buy into whatsoever? How is your true religion (or spirituality) going to help Muslims, Hindus, atheists, etc?

When two or three are gathered together, Christ promised to be with them. You think he's here on JWN? You bet he is.

You have your own list of criteria... others come up with their own list of criteria.

Real spirituality doesn't involve joining a group. It's a one on one relationship with God. It is not following a group. Sooner or later someone in the group sets an agenda or egos become involved and the whole thing is corrupted. One ends up following man, not God.

"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. " James 1:27

And as others here have pointed out, Jesus said "wherever 2 or 3 are gathered together in my name, there I am in their midst." Doesn't sound like starting a new religion to me... Why settle for the substitute, when you can have the real thing? Jesus also said "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6 The Truth is not an organization or a "true religion" It is Christ. All you have to do is ask Him.

It's not our game its the creators problem. apparently its not important for us to have the correct view because the creator has the ability to let us know but chooses not to and leaves us scrambling around trying to come up with something.

There are about 7,000,000,000 versions of "truth" right now...

Religion is always a divider when you get above a certain number.

I actually joked recently that I was going to start my own religion. This was in response to my employer's decision to remove pork from the menu of all maternity patients' meals, so as not to offend muslim sensibilities and risk legal action from them. I said that I was going to start a religion that required all members to eat pork... especially if it's bacon.

There are too many different ways to interpret the bible, therefore too many definitions of truth. So it would be impossible.

ie: my hubby thinks I am the most beautiful closest to perfect woman in the world. Would other men think that way no. there wouls have someone different in mind to fir that definition.

beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

True religion is in the eye of the believer.

    dear Mad Sweeney...

So when God works signs in the earth and in heaven; it is testing Him to ask Him to give you eyes to see them?(daniel 6:27)...I don't know if I have come right out and asked God to reveal signs to me but I don't think that asking Him to reveal His signs to me is wrong...especially if it is to further His purpose with my life.

    love michelle
