Beer tips??
I make dinner for CHG most every night of the week. One of my more recent was grilled salmon. Wow was that good. Steamed veggies, and brown rice. Dinner for two is hard to shop for, but we both like to eat. I maintain my high school weight of 160. CHG keeps in great shape cause she runs 5 miles a day after work. I tried that running thing once..yup, just once.
Grilled the salmon with garlic and lemon, skin side down, no flipping, 10 mins and it wasn't over done.

They were good. After cutting the grass in the searing heat, my g'son was ravenous.
He ate like a lumberjack!

Beks, I can't believe those burgers. At first I thought they were real turtles. Been seeing a lot of Eastern Box Turtles around here trying to cross the road. Are those hot dogs stuck in hamburgers coated in cheese and bacon?
Palm, glad you enjoyed the bean soup and dumplings! Gotta have the dumplings! That recipe has just enough kick to keep it from being boring bean soup.
Tammy, dear, I've yet to find beef bouillon that doesn't contain (you guessed it!) SOY! If you know of a brand, let me know.
I've thawed out a turkey. Tomorrow (Saturday) I'm baking my turkey and having turnip greens and mashed turnips and cantaloupe. Don't know what else, it depends upon what I feel like making.

Syl, I think the question is, what are beer tips? My beer pours out of the bottle. I've never been able to cut it into tips.
I fried plantains tonight. One of the few useful things that I learned in bethel.
And since the oil was hot, I also fried chimichangas.
Billy, did you make fried plantain chimichangas??
Beks, can you believe that I don't have a mandolin? DS27 is taking me out to dinner Sunday night for my birthday, which was yesterday (Thursday, 7/22). He asked me what I wanted as a gift. I told him nothing. Foolish me! I should have him get me a mandolin, since he's a kitchen manager and could probably get one at a discount.
Thanks for the pic! It gave me inspiration!

It's amazing how much I now use mine. Love love love it. The only part of cooking I do not care for. That's why I usually try to have "the girls" around, sitting at the bar with a glass of wine, chopping (grunt work), while I create!!! They love it too, but when I'm alone I just gotta have that thing. That, and a salad spinner.
No, they were frozen chicken chimis from the grocery store. They had some good green plantains at the store yesterday for a change, so I grabbed one. It fried up real nice. yum!
