A reminder of Rule 5 for JW apologists using the Interwebs, just for AIW:

5 - Cut and paste is your friend. Repeatedly pasting large amounts of material serves many useful purposes. Firstly it will impress the audience. They can see you are an intelligent debater who has done their homework and not one to be messed with. Secondly cut and pasting makes your point better than you ever could. (Note - the cut and paste doesn't have to be specific to the point you are trying to make - mostly cut and pastes get skimmed over but your objective - to impress the audience - doesn't require them to actually read it) Thirdly, always remember you are on a 'discussion' forum - cut and pasting removes the tiresome burden of discussing original thoughts you may have.

Caedes cut and paste here goes unnoticed nor was it any different than me identifying reference material to back a position (and I included plenty of my own discussion) as some people here like to make stuff up. That must be the reason some here are allergic to anything aside from stories they can concoct in their head.

TD and seattleniceguy, you make some excellent points.

By the way, that creation of a synthetic cell didn't sound very difficult or complicated, if you read the reports. Intelligent design, indeed.

You may notice that my own cut and paste are:

1. Clearly referenced

2. Clearly marked to show the reader which are my own comments and which are quoted

3. Make up a minority of the post in question (2 paragraphs out of 6 in the case highlighted)

4. Back up a point I have made myself without resorting to quote mining

5. Thoroughly read and researched

You may also notice I will always attempt to answer questions put to me in regard to anything I post including anything I have quoted.

I think if you have a look at your "own posts" you will see that yours fail everyone of those points. At no point have I claimed that cut and paste is always bad. Used sensibly they are an essential part of a reasoned argument. Used badly they just make you look like an idiot.

Obviously you dont have to follow the rules I set myself, how you post is up to you.

Unbelievable that the basic rules of writing has to be explained to you, did you not do this stuff at school?

I was driving home, and they were reading off some things about parasites on the radio.

They read about a parasite (Leucochloridium) who lives in bird feces. It can only reproduce inside a bird. But, since birds are not in the habit of eating feces, it has to get creative. Snails have no such qualms about eating poop, so it uses the snail as an escort - when the snail slimes over the feces, it gets in the snail. However, these birds are also not in the habit of eating snails. So the parasite must get even more creative. So, it gets into the eye of the snail, and makes the eye swell until it looks like a caterpillar. But it is still at a disadvantage, because snails generally hide in dark places, where birds would not look. So, the parasite is able to manipulate the snail into going out in the open, where a bird will see it's caterpillar eye, and eat it. The parasite grows and lays it's eggs in the bird, it is pooped out, and the cycle begins again.

Now obviously this parasite is an AMAZING organism. Just look at what it can do!

But what sounds better? That this parasite was designed to function as it does by a creator (who also created the poor snail), or that this parasite-snail-bird relationship is simply the product of years of evolution, and the unfortunately at times very cruel molding process of nature?

Which makes more sense?

To keep things on track, I will skip discussion of the platypus. However, Gondwana can not possibly account for the camels and cats in Austraila. Unless you can tell me with a straight face that Gondwana broke up only 100 years ago.

Where are the rest of you? I find it interesting that evo’s will pick apart opposing views to the n th degree, yet you let a glaring error like that slide.
