My lovely JW sister just said this to her oldest son.

By the way, for those of you who don't know, I am Heather, the Walking Dead, of which my sister speaks.

I don't think that all jws treat xs like this.... but I know of a lot who do. I think a lot has to do with how strict the local cong. is. I've lived all over the country, so I know how that varies...

I could tell some horror stories, but I also know of cases where they are more mercifull. Even when showing a kinder attitude though, jws will rarely discuss anything spiritual with the dfed individuals.

    I'm sorry.

It amazes me what the wtbs does to peoples thinking. They remove normal human thoughts and replace it with strange reasoning. I remember a woman at the hall who had a son who was in an institution because he was born not right in some way I don't know exactly the story except he didn't even know who they were. Well he died and I wanted to say something to her so I expressed concern and her response was "well at least now he'll get a resurrection" I was shocked by her response all I could think of was What!

Coffee, the inconsistency amongst Jehovah's Witnesses, in shunning is bewildering. I am always glad to hear of JW's who have more heart.

Nancy, so the mother thought the son would not have the same chance for life if he lived to Armeggedon. I'm shaking my head. People, in general can have such unenlightened views of mental illness or handicaps: very frustrating.

Good god - that's a shocking response. No love there at all, not even a pretence of it. Wow!!

TBH my mum's reaction will be similar when word gets back to her about me and nugget.

How any mother could write such hysterical rubbish to her child is shocking. Keeping away from her may well be best for him although rejection is never welcome.

I am truly sorry he received this foolish rubbish from the one person he should be able to trust to love him is so sad. Mind you she seems pretty extreme and unhinged and could be classed as truly toxic. With my husbands relatives I am becoming an expert.

How sad! I'm so sorry to hear how awful he was treated by his own mother. What a twisted and cruel organization to take the natural love one has for their children and turn it into hate - all in the name of a LOVING God. I only wish people would see the irony in this. The damage they are doing is horrific.

I wish your nephew all the best. I'm so glad he has your support.

All the best to both of you!

I have come to the sad conclusion that most of the control and legalisms the Org use are engineered to reduce/destroy natural affection between loved ones which might come between them and the Org....basically -SICK

And just think, Loz, everybody, they'd spread this toxic, poisonous love to every single person on this earth if they could. It calls to mind the Lennon/McCartney song World Without Love. I agree. "I don't care what they say I won't stay in a world without love." This is the primary reason I left the JW world without love.

Stories like this break my heart. I've been through some ups and downs with my children, I would never abandon them for anything. The watchtower is getting more cult like, not less.
