    dear Quentin...

"Nothing, they are words on a page written for those who already accept Jesus as the savior."...

really?...that scripture doesn't even mention the name Jesus?...my unbiased mind would have wondered who is this Son...and that scripture is the very one I would choose to speak first when "introducing" someone to Jesus...but hey, if you already know each other...do you keep in touch?

    dear Terry...

you said: "Had man been created as a PEER there would have been no motive for either Adam or Eve to desire to BE LIKE God knowing Good or Bad!!"...

well, God did want them to have the best start and I guess that means NOT having been subjected to any evil...

Yes really. The preamble dosn't name him, it describes who he is. The rest of John tells the story. "... do you keep in touch?" With who? I read the Bible, that's all.

some time ago you said that one should lead a "godly life" and that is all "we" can do(to paraphrase what you wrote) let me ask you a few questions... what is the difference between what you consider a godly life and what the muslim jihadis that blow themselves and others up consider a godly life? isn't your god who can "be what ever you want him to be" just so arbitrary that you may not be leading a "godly life" at all? if you really wanted to know if you were leading a "godly life", would you say that some kind of arbitrator would be needed to settle which "godly life" is more in keeping with what God considers a "godly life"?... the koran has an arbitrator...his name is mohammad...he may just as well be your arbitrator... and you can read and know for sure that you are not leading a "godly life" as far as allah and mohammad are concerned. if everything Jesus supposedly said was merely based on the human intuition and sense of morality of the writers...in an attempt to fashion a more benevolent god...you're actually practicing leading a "godly life" based on what a myth said and getting it all wrong too because that's not what mohammad (who is not a myth) proscribed as a "godly life"...you are so doubly screwed aren't you? your intuition resonates with an epic myth you're reading about in the wrong book...and you're enjoying it! love michelle

You lost me. I am a Diest, one who believes in the existance of a creator. Any relationship I have with God is personel and my own, one on one by the way.

    dear Quentin...

islam teaches that mohammad's "allah" IS the creator god...and "allah" has a conflict with every other god, myth, spirit, sprite or fairy duking it out..."upstairs"...

the conflict is real, Quentin...you don't have to sense a "spiritual" conflict if it grabs you by the throat. "allah's" conflict with us has a world-wide network of supporters...even if you haven't personally lost some one in the conflict surely you've read about it in the newspaper or have seen it on t.v?

the ONE who wins "on the ground" ...wins...

michelle, you have strayed of the reservation girl. How did the topic "IF THE BIBLE is so darned great---why don't people JUST read IT?", this I have answered several times, for my part, come down to you giving me advice and insturction about Allah? I must be dumb as a box of rocks, don't get your point.

"islam teaches that mohammad's "allah" IS the creator god...and...has a conflict with every other god, myth, spirit, sprite or fairy duking itout..."upstairs"...". Yes, it does, Christianity teachs the same about God, the Lord, Jesus, whatever title you wish to give the creator. Within the context of these belife systems are "hard core extremist" who will convert the un-believer by using violence, or the threat there of. Some, onboth sides, will extermenate all who oppose them, if they convert, or not makes no difference. Don't believe, your dead. Make no mistake, they will slit your throat, go home have a nice supper drop into bed and sleep tight, for they rid the world of an opposer. Now that's simple math, one less un-believer to deal with.

We hi-jacked the thread, got off on a side issue, I wasted time giving a history lesson so you would see I am not blind to what goes on in this world, all for what? I've answered the topic question, How about you, eh? Stay on topic, shall we? Answer the question.

    Any book can say anything.

If we are told a book has a miracle diet and we believe it and follow the diet we may lose weight. But, some miracle diets are dangerous.

The Bible is a sort of miracle diet book.

We may be filled with hope and love when we follow it, but, history has proved it also to be dangerous.

    Why?

The interpretive function in our abstract reasoning doesn't limit how far we can go with it.

Not knowing how far is too far carries us to the edge of personal destruction. If not our property and our body; certainly our TIME!
