I'm taking the Cymbalta for pain. I had to wean myself off the Lyrica and was taking them both at the same time for a couple of weeks. Lyrica is not something you want to go cold-turkey with. I was in so much pain when I tried that once before. So for 2 weeks I was on both. They both seem to be used for fibro. see http://www.cymbalta.com/index.jsp

"In clinical studies of fibromyalgia, the most commonly reported side effect of Cymbalta was mild to moderate nausea."
Great. Now that I've stopped throwing up due to soy, think I'll add a drug that gives me nausea.
Seriously, though, I'm going to go see my doctor on Tuesday. I will bring up Cymbalta to her. Thank you, Lee!

Aunt Bee, my daughter who is 52 has been suffering from Lyme disease for almost two years now. She has been on every antibiotic and modified diet you can name. She takes the pill antibiotics as we have discussed the IV regimen and decided she would be one that probably couldn't handle it. I totally understand what your hubby is going through. My daughter hads been really good the last week but I know she will soon be down again..
Her worst complaint are the tremors and the weakness.
Snoozy..

mine does not seem to stay heated as long as it's supposed too i use mines for
Try a large-ish round stone... or brick... heated in the oven... then wrapped in an old towel (remember to use double mitts when taking it out!). I haven't done this in awhile, as COLD... dead on... is what works for me. I have an old rhomboid/rib/spine injury that gives me HECK from time to time and I don't even need a pad between the ice pack and my back.
But the stone/brick is what my grandmother/stepmother used when I was a child (sometimes to heat a cold bed in the winter), because heating pads were dangerous (they didn't turn off back then and so often burned folks, especially diabetics)... and water bottles cooled off too soon, so...
Just a suggestion...

They have much better heating pads today. They have moist heat and timers that shut off after so long to prevent burns.
The drugs mentioned here are always on TV these days, mostly by lawyers that want to sue for damages to the person that took the drugs. Can't remember exactly what they were supposed to have caused but suicide comes to mind.
And yet they still sell/market them?
I'm confused..

Snoozy Most often the probelms with suicide are when teens are prescribed these drugs. It seems to make them MORE depressed. And often the problem isn't with the drugs. It is with the way people take - or don't take them. Coming off these meds without the guidance of your Dr can be dangerous. Some people start them and don't like the side effect sand just stop taking them - NOT good
